Smaug The Terrible Pre-Orders Up From Weta Workshop!
November 12, 2014 by brennon
So Games Workshop haven't made a version of Smaug (yet) but Weta Workshop would be remiss to not do something on this mighty dragon from the Lonely Mountain. See what you think of their 1/72 Scale Version...
As you can see he is coiled around his mountain of gold in the depths of Erebor and he is stunning. I know we use that word a lot but that is certainly one of the best looking Dragons/Wyverns out there. If you want a run down of his specs...
11.8" x 20.5" x 17.7" (H x W x D) - 30 cm x 52 cm x 45 cm
...he's quite the monstrous piece much like their Balrog. There are 2000 of these up for grabs so if you have some spare funds around and fancy picking up a brilliantly well painted Smaug then pop on over to Weta!
What do you think?

Beautiful!!, my mother would love this, I’ll give her a picture of him for xmas….its the thought that counts…right? Lol
Get a recording of Cumberbatch and it’ll be just like the real thing. She won’t be able to tell the difference!
No I hate thoughts and would rather have the item lol.
it seems they use the official logo, thus, likely they used the original 3d data from the movie and fed it to a 3d printer
beautiful
Meantime GW are draggin’ their feet….:)
For that price I can have a living scale replica genetically engineered.
That looks awesome.
Its an Amazing model but a bit out of my price range.
So I was thinking how bad could the price be? So, I went to the site, saw the price and said a few choice words. For that money I’ll go to Middle Earth and get my own dragon. It’s a beautiful model though.
