The Hobbit Teaser Trailer Coming To Comic-Con?
July 21, 2014 by brennon
There has been very little hitting the internet about the final The Hobbit film, The Battle of Five Armies. There is plenty of rumour and speculation surrounding the film but we could be ready for a teaser trailer at Comic-Con this coming weekend.
The above image appeared from the Comic-Con site showing Gandalf and Bard in the midst of a battle. Gandalf notably has his new staff which is the one Radagast has been using in the previous films. This is also his Fellowship staff of course so shows a nice little connection between the two film series.
Peter Jackson mentioned a few weeks ago now that the full trailer wouldn't be coming out until later in the year, nearer October would be a good bet. However about this time last year we were teased with images and a trailer for Desolation of Smaug and Comic-Con does seem like the best bet for a reveal.
I can't wait to see how they deal with the battle itself and of course we have the White Council versus the Necromancer to look forwards to as well! In other news I have begun to get back into The Hobbit: Strategy Battle Game and have been painting up Dwarves and Goblins. The system is great and I don't know why I dropped it in the first place!
Look out for the new teaser trailer (possibly) this weekend.

I wonder how this is handled considering that in book everyone pretty much dies.
Hopefully they stick true to the book – and from what Richard Armitage and Elijah Wood have sad in interviews that is certainly seeming to be the case.

Stick true to the book? Well they haven’t done so far. I’ve long since lost interest in these films. Utter disappointment.
If there’s one thing I hope PJ does stick true to the book on then it’s the deaths – was more my point heh,
The eagles are coming!
This will be the first new thing since they named the final film.
Cant wait for part 3! Only thing I haven’t really liked about the Hobbit movies is the decision to rely more on CGI than practical effects like they did with LOTR. Still, any excuse to visit Middle Earth at the cinema gets my thumbs up! 5 armies rumble madness awaits!
After watching the extended edition backstage stuff it was interesting seeing how they started off doing the practical effects to begin with and then had to switch. All the contraptions started to break and maybe they tried ‘too hard’ with the animatronics and such in the actors face masks.
It would have been good to see more of it as you say but I suppose when Peter Jackson wants a massive sprawling fight scene you might need to turn to CGI.
Hasn’t stopped me enjoying the movies and both Goblin Town and the Barrel Chase were fun sequences 🙂
