New Hobbit Film DVD Out Soon & Trailer On The Horizon?

If you're a big fan of Middle-Earth then you'll be happy to know that the home release of the Extended Edition for Desolation of Smaug is out soon; or if you're a digital fan then you can get it on Itunes right now! The Battle of the Five Armies should soon be getting it's big trailer reveal too!
This big new poster appeared for the film showing off the battle in progress as well as a cool and very Jackson-esque collection of heroes. The poster style has always been like this even as far back as Fellowship of the Ring.
As I mentioned the trailer for the third installment should be out soon as we've been getting a lot of hype about it recently. Posters, snippets in magazines and more have appeared showing off some exciting things.
Getting back into the tabletop game I'm also interested in the miniatures. I can't wait for alternative versions of Thorin's Company, new Elves, Dain Ironfoots army, more Dol Guldur Orcs and even a Smaug. I think that could well be the biggest thing Games Workshop ever work on if the Dragon comes out!
Are you excited for the last film?

Cannot wait, hoping it return to feel of the first as I felt the second film was more Hollywood than Tolkien – not bad but not what I expected, and I don’t have an inherent issue with alterations to the story
But Dwarf ram cavalry promises to be cool. Also if they survived the cutter room Sir Christopher Lee said they is a fair bit of Saruman kicking arse which should be cool
Looking forward to it.
Dwarven cavalry, The Hobbit goes Warhammer :/
Not quite. Mantic’s Kings of War maybe since Warhammer Dwarfs have no Cavalry. 😉
Don’t be alarmed. It would seem none of them know there are other better games out there. A shame, really :-).
Err… no thanks. After the sing along with the dwarves and that awful CGI chase scene with Legolas and the barrels along the river I was pretty much done, and I certainly don’t need to own the DVD. I might rent the last instalment at some point if I’m really bored, but I won’t queue up at the theater.
A lot of the action of the film seemed to driven by the potential to make video games after the fact….bouncy barrel scene (like something from Asterix), pointless golden dragon scene that went nowhere.
The ‘Jumping the Shark’ moment for me, in this trilogy was when Smaug was covered in gold by the dwarves in the second film; I gave away the DVD. Such a shame that Jackson ruined all he had achieved with Lord of the Rings for the sake of a few million extra quid/dollars – did he need to do it?
Two videos promoting the films the first is the extended version of Desolation of Smaug the second is an Air New Zealand safety video promoting the new Five Armies film.

(Fingers crossed, breath baited) that the last film will be as good as the previous films
The hobbits films are awfull. Completely devoid of charm and character.
