While many of you may not know them, Mithril has been creating Lord of the Rings models for a long time. Their collection is rather vast and draws on the book representations of the characters and creatures rather than the films. Their newest addition to the webstore, Elfhelm is looking rather cool!

Elfhelm

Elfhelm was one of the Riders Of Rohan who lead his warriors into a valiant charge on Pelennor Fields. He survived the battle and was sent to guard the Northern border of Gondor whilst the main army marched on The Black Gate.

All of the miniatures Mithril make are in 32mm scale and made of metal - and have a distinct feel of old school Fantasy to them. I like the designs on their models and it takes me back to my time reading the books for the first time.

Dead Men & Dwarves

It isn't just Elfhelm hitting the webstore either as they have some enemies for you to face too. Here we have the Deadman Of Dunharrow.

Deadmen Of Dunharrow

These shambling warriors are a lot more physical than the ghostly apparitions that fight alongside Aragorn in the film version of the story. I've always had a soft spot for Draugr and the undead in this style. Whilst this is a single model for collectors more than anything it could be fun for a new painting project.

Last but not least I had to include a Dwarf as they also showed off Bombur from his time when fighting at The Battle of the Five Armies.

Bombur

Swinging his axe out to strike down his foe, Bombur does look the part of war-like Dwarf here. As with the other models in this range, they aren't particular cheap, but they are nice alternatives if you're looking to try something new in your games.

What do you think of the Mithril range?
