So how did the game go between Dawn & Sam? We catch up with them and discuss how it all came to an end.
This camp site seriously has seen quite a lot of brutality!
Okay, so there is optimization possible? How do the characters get their items, in this case melee weapons to boost their abilities? Can you “buy” the up front or do you have to find them in the course of the game?
You can buy equipment cards when you configure your crew, however you can also find weapons in game in the supply deck
There is, in a way. When you are deciding which weapons to equip to your characters certain weapons may compliment the skills of your character. You can ‘buy’ them up-front or find them throughout the game but it is something that you can create a sort of tactic around when choosing your team.

Strategy and team selection can boost your chances but having the dice gods on your side as well. Wonder what the good vs bad win ratio is.

Not necessarily, Dawn just had some rotten luck with the dice rolls as well as a few nasty encounters with walkers. It didn’t help the situation, however tools can help you out and help bolster your character, they aren’t OP or game-winners so to speak
Are there character type combinations that seem to be working well, or are players mostly sticking to combos from the comics?
By the sounds of it a combo of Carl plus Ammo is working well… The ammo should go the the weapon though Carl, not in you

I really like the idea of stripped down survivors with lots of options of things to find on the table. To see who gets what to become the strongest and win out.

Yeah, I’m more of a quantity over quality type player too. Gives a lot of flexibility & some much needed room for error.
