Unboxing The Germans – Rommel’s Afrika Korps

Justin & John sit down to talk about the kind of awesome kit you get inside the Afrika Korps set that the Boot Camp members are getting to play around with.

There is a LOT of stuff in here. It will be fun seeing how it's all coming together across the weekend.

God I’ve always loved the look of the PZ III. Much cooler to me than the PZ IV for some reason.

That looks like quite the army. I hope Justin doesn’t revisit the Pikachu school of painting for this army…

Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the minis – Battlefront have upped their ante a lot on those. The 10.5 cm leFH 18 was German, John, adopted in 1935. nothing to do with France at all.

WoW, who wouldn’t want to win this 🙂 I like that they have gone with a hardback book.

I still really love the look of the Panzer III’s over the Panzer IV’s. Don’t why, I just do.

That’s a nice force to start out with. I’m looking forward to seeing them built/painted and kicking butt !

Love how these kits have so many options and yet they are marked in such a way that a person who is not a bolt counter can still identify them when building there army.

Wow those look good. Could you tell me about the scale of the new plastic? Somehow the guncrew look bigger than previous FoW minis.

Brought to you by the two happiest people at BOW boot camp right now (tanks, tanks and more tanks) Haha!!

That’s a lot of tanks! Will be interesting to see what formations they will play them in, a wide front, cover hopping, spearhead?

Love the plastic tanks

Could someone stand over Dustin with a big stick, please? If he sprays the Afrika Korps yellow, hit him. It is acceptable in Dropfleet but an absolute no-no in historical gaming!

Has inspired me to reread Panzer Commander, the memoirs of Colonel Hans Von Luck.

Superb minis, I’m going to have to start saving up, again.

The model and type choices look excellent. I am hoping that the tank count will be similar between the German and British forces. Always hate the Allies get six tanks and the Axis get 2 tank mentality. I understand balance issues, but they then dictate what tactics you can use based on limited or overpowered numbers.

Looking good. Last time I had anything to do with FoW the vehicles were resin and the Troops were metal.
