This Is Not A Test

While walking around one of the gaming halls in the demo area we stumble across a game that the guys just talked about on the weekender. Dawn sits down with the games creator Joey and finds out about This Is Not A Test.

I’d be interested to see how it plays. Sounds like you can field just about anything. If that terrain comes with it I would think its going to be a hit.

Check out the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/905688146148353/) there is plenty of information there. Great game, pretty fast-paced (games takes 1-2 hours). You can also see some videos on Guerilla Miniatures YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3pO7X8SLeE&list=PLzrPO7KIAtwXjmt8bbt48W0D6mwn-nJ9W)

I keep getting the feeling that this is what a Fallout miniatures game would be.

I have heard about this game from tabletop minions. Looks like it could be some real fun. Just using the miniatures you already have is a great selling point.

Backed this as I’ve been waiting for the book to come out for a while. Looks like a great game.

Another good skirmish game, I love being able to use whatever models I have.

Check out Ash’s videos at Guerilla Miniatures Gaming on this they are great. I really like the combat system. Can’t wait for the hardback rulebook. Plus a big shoutout to a fellow Marylander.

When ever I see these post-apocalyptic wasteland games, I’m always reminded of the wasteland sections of Half-Life 2. I love that game.

I have run a campaign for this at my club, the game is amazing.

Played as one off games at certain BS (Barterscrip, the currency) its good, played as part of a larger campaign is where it comes in to its own.

The best description for it is “If Fallout and Necromunda had a lovechild, it would be this game”.

Pics from the launch day of our campaign here – http://tcownz.blogspot.co.nz/2015/08/this-is-not-test-club-meeting-982015.html

The winner in the end was Molly and his Mutant Cannibals, man they were brutal.

Like Frostgrave, it’s a very low entry point to try something different. The table on display also sells it very well. 🙂

I’m expecting some modern chaotic terrain from my Walking Dead kickstarter, and have some brick town centre Mantic terrain, perhaps the table will inspire a look at something more nuclear post-apocalyptic to play on it.
