Flames Of War 4th Edition Boot Camp: Day Two
The Campaign Begins!
We're also gathering up a number of different players to battle out the games for the campaign map run by Jim, also known as oriskany on the forums.
People are beginning to get set up for their first games and we'll be stopping in with them as the day continues.
I am intrigued to see how the Panzer IV’s fare against the Grants
And we’re off to a beautiful start ladies and gentleman.
Even though on this slightly rainy day we’ll see how well Monty and his crew will do against Rommel and his boys.
I prefer the afrika Korps palm tree to the rat
You would think with all the stuff in the desert to draw from they could come up with army symbols that were just a bit more scary than a tree and a rat. What would you guys have come up with if you were designing the Army symbols for the British 8th Army and the Afrika Corps??
Have fun and come on afrika korps destroy old monty
The campaign map looks great
The table looks so good 🙂
Very cool stuff, I still find that long desert board very nice!
Loving the artwork on the books
Looking god Guys, those tables just look awesome.
Can’t wait to see the new rules
Are there “generals” for each side?
We briefly considered it, @irontom – but didn’t want to start building “hierarchies” among the players. We wanted everyone to feel their battles were equally as important.
Besides, in all honestly, such a “general” wouldn’t get to play on the tabletop. Generals aren’ter supposed to command tactical forces, when you’re playing FoW you’re typically “roleplaying” as a lieutenant, captain, or major (perhaps lt. colonels for really big games)
I love the campaign map. What a great visual to get you immersed as a commander.
The we will attack…..here…..here and here
Shame they could not have got a couple of the FOW mats as I’m interested in one.
Is it a campaign from the BF Website or where is it from?
@warlord96 – Just something we put together for the boot camp. 😀
Can’t wait to catch up with John and Justin
I love the map looks like a proper batthe plan
With such a long table, are you allowing games to spill over into each other for support?
@milkshake – We are talking about launching that kind of game on Sunday morning.
Awesome
Again just great looking tables
It is nice to see that there are some new [not seen at a Boot Camp] faces in there.
let the games begin
That looks epic!
I’m sort of curious how the map was made..
@stoney997 – The campaign map? Man, that’s a whole story in itself.
Or do you mean the map tables. Man, that’s ANOTHER whole story in itself. 😀
And now the fun begins, will history repeat itself or will a temporal paradox occur and change history books forever.
Keep up the good work jim
Thanks very much, @ghent !
