Bolt Action: Western Desert Boot Camp Live Blog - Sunday
That's A Wrap! Bolt Action Western Desert Boot Camp Sorted!
It has been a long few days but it has been a lot of fun. We have been showing off Bolt Action games galore, getting stuck into some grudge matches, delving into the unfolding campaign playing out across the Western Desert and much more.
We’ve got a great idea that we wanted to share with you! To get you guys involved at home we wanted to give away some spot prizes to those who create some Bolt Action based projects using our Project System.
Make Bolt Action Projects & Win £20 Warlord Games Vouchers!
This can be anything Bolt Action based, be it a unit of soldiers, a commander figure, tanks (John loves those!) or even some pieces of terrain. It DOES NOT have to be desert themed either.
Make sure to select this option when you’re putting together your projects!
See What’s Been Worked On So Far!
We can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on and the kind of things you share with us.
Thanks to everyone involved. Super coverage to follow from afar. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as they looked like they were.
Well done folks. Another great Boot Camp with great coverage to keep us all engaged.
Safe home everybody.
good old lloyed
Not looked at the projects yet, will have to give them a nose and up vote some
Have loved every post for the weekend. It’s been awesome to watch along but couldn’t even imagine being there.
Excellent coverage, and some great videos, all in all very enjoyable to watch.
Thanks team for the excellent coverage – thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thanks for the great weekend guys and galls!
Heading back to Canuckistan with a sun burn and some sand in my shoes.
Thanks for showing us who couldn’t be there a truly epic boot camp.
Wrapping up the action on sunday evening sitting on my couch with a cold beer. Applause to everyone involved, great effort and great coverage y’all!
Great inspiration to watch everything going on. Plus I get to spend the next couple of days looking at all the stuff I missed 🙂
Absolutely marvelous models! I wish that I could get an event like this here in Virginia.
Thank you for this crazy boot camp run.
Next time less advertisement.
but without the advertisements they can’t run them, unless someone fancies donating them a couple thousand pounds. Everything has a cost these days.
But at the beginning, middle and end of each video (ok, they oversaw some videos, but i’m sure just by accident). Everyone has a pain threshold. Its like an never ending infomercial. I still can hear Ben’s voice: “And win…. by commenting…”
In germany you are urged to mark these as out infomercial. It is not unusual that people critizise this today. People sell out their independence.
Hey @andre77, Is this the intro to the videos you are referring too?
If so, that is just the intro to the videos so people know what it is and let’s them know there’s a chance to win a prize.
There is no sales pitch in them – it just letting people see some of the brands involved in making the Boot Camp a reality.
@lloyd: Have you tried to watch all videos in a row. Like said, i still can hear the voice of Ben. Especially if you watch the shorter clips in a row. I was totally over the edge. IMO. I’m sorry, but this has to be said. I will stop lamenting (for now 😉 )
Hi @andre77 I can see that point of view. That’s why We work hard to keep them short to around 10s.
But we also need to cater to viewers that nip in to watch just one video now and then and we can’t control which order people will watch them in.
thanks to all the guys! it has been a great weekend!
Such a fun weekend …..one day when I can justify the 27 hour flight time… ..one day
we play there most Sundays from 13:00 so if you fancy popping over you can fly back when we’re done. I know it’s a bit of a commute, but I offered the same deal to the canucks and they seemed keen on the idea 🙂
Thanks mate, you are very kind .. I appreciate the offer … please forward your Sunday meeting date schedule however, I’d hate to pop over and find it cancelled 😀 😀 😀
Thanks for another entertaining weekend.
Looks like a great time was had by all. Tables and minis looked fantastic. Got me to paint another squad of my desert rats and figure out how to use Projects. Which is superb to use btw, i used to have to fight my devices to post pics on the old forums. This works great off my phone.
I’ve enjoyed watching all the videos and live streams, I’ve always wanted to game the desert war, but didn’t know where to start. You’ve given me the spur to build a small army of British. Thank you all.
Hi comet5, first time I have played British, and I can certainly recommend them!
It was a great weekend to watch! Thanks for putting this on guys!
Well i started at the end.
Well done all round, thank you for sharing this. I’m now eyeing up the hefty book on my drawers for a second read – “A bloody road home” about the NZ 2nd Division.
