Fabled Realms Beta Weekend - Saturday
4Ground Fabled Realms Terrain Talk With Gerry
Gerry the giant has escaped the clutches of the village people and we're checking out the fabulous terrain pieces around the Beasts of War Gaming hall.
With the mats from GameMat EU, Deep Cut Studio and 4Ground terrain buildings I think we've achieved something special for our Beta Testers.
What's your favourite terrain pieces?
@Gerry – Snake Plyskin’s slightly more nerdy brother…I thought you were dead….
Yeah. You and everybody else
The tables look amazing, obviously, but I’m really liking those wanted posters I’m seeing all around you guys. Think it would be great if 4Ground started slipping a few of them in as freebies with orders from their website.
They add to the whole world building and immersion of the Fabled Realms.
Love it.
Looking forward to seeing a recap on Gerry’s game.
That is hands down the best table in the main room.
Im very much with gerry on this one. Find an easy way into the game and the rest will come with time. I do love the stoic arms and the backstory of why its called what it is, just wish I could pursuade my wife that its a nessesary purchase! Id love to get my mordanburg state guard defending it from an incursion.
Some furniture to go in the buildings would be nice.
So I like the fabled realms buildings for sure but with my helms deep project I can’t but help look at the Norse table for the demos and have dreams of building Edoras!
That would be awesome.
We’re getting that for Edoras for sure!
Really nice looking table!
The devil is in the details. The leafs around the orchards, pieces of coal in the wagon, beautiful planning and execution.
Wow, these tables just keep getting better. Really nice to see these amazing buildings in action vs pics on the site. Keep it up!
If I won one of the vouchers, the Stoic Arms would be the first purchase. All my Pathfinder games would start in that tavern.
Beautiful terrain. Also love the ruins and want to get my hands on a couple sets.
Have to go with a massive generalisation and say ( genuinely ) that there is not a piece of terrain ( buildings or the incidental / scatter ) that i don’t love. The guys do an absolutely awe-inspiring job and long may it continue so this fanboy can populate my flgc’s tables with it.
Completly love the Fabled Realm houses from 4Ground! I have some of the already but will get more very soon! Also want some of the Viking houses for both Fabled Realms but also to play Saga with! 🙂 You have done an amazing job with these tables!! So inspiring!
great table and always great to see Gerry with all that hair hes like Ireland’s answer to Sasquatch
I agree with Gerry about the leaves and scatter pieces making the difference. A “lived in” feel is the right word for it.
I am so happy with my 4Ground houses.
The construction of their buildings is quite addictive. haha
Not only plastic crack, there is also the MDF version.
I do love the 4ground kits. I’m currently sat building my own stoic arms and its impressively mahoooosssive
I’m SUCH a fan of 4ground
The horse dung pick up cart is my most favourite piece of ‘Oh I never noticed that before’ terrain.
Absolutely love the fabled realms terrain, had brought some ruins of daldor earlier in the year witch where very nice but the set of Mordanburg buildings I received from the Kickstarter were a pleasure to build and look fantastic, since then I have also picked up the black smith and my Lovely wife got me the Stoic Arms for Christmas, hoping to pick up the watch tower and a few more bits before the rest of the Kickstarter arrives.
The ladder in the orchard as though people were just picking the apples and then have hurried inside as battle approaches
Modem terrain has come on leaps and bounds, it’s so much easier to build a table of great looking terrain these days then back in the day when I was a teen (80’s) where we scratched built every piece. Though I really love the terrain from companies like 4ground I do feel that there is an aspect of the hobby we’re slowly loosing and that’s scratch building/kit bashing terrain. Which is why I like the videos Lloyd does on terrain building. I kinda love making terrain from bits of old crap from around the house, though I suspect the other… Read more »
Feel very much the same. One big ‘problem’ I see here is standarization in a world where soul and essence are creativity, imagination, developing ideas between your own self and a group of similar minded people or within a fictional construction as inspiration, and realizing and contributing your pojects. And that is not coming per se from the fact there are so many ready designed pieces availible. One concern is with MDF limiting the scope of shapes and forms due to how and for what it is used. That’s basically stemming from the flat surface, angular side edge (typically 90°)… Read more »
So many carts of dung!
How about one of dead bodies………”bring out your dead! bring out your dead”
I’m not dead, I feel haaaaappy so happy!
I think I might go for a run
all the terrain looks fab.
The wagons with the coal in them and the trail to blacksmith are just great touches
