We talked with the winner of the SmogCon Masters, Pat, and discussed his victory and how the game went.
This fellow is on a bit of a role actually so make sure to keep an eye out for him in the future too.

Well, I was hoping that Cygnar would compete against a different faction, but congratulations! Thank you, BoW – again – for your awesome coverage!
Nice win… and he seems like a decent bloke ….I always seem to strike young , loud, you-suck-I’m-awesome (and to be fair it may be true) blokes in my limited tournament experience.
Congratulations. He seemed like a very gracious winner. Shame that it was an all Cygnar final, but they still had to be played well to get there.

As I understand it Pat deliberately put Stryker1 into his pairing because of how much Cygnar there was in the field. His feat for +5 ARM, combined with the fact he is immune to electricity and therefore cannot be killed by electroleaps meant he had solid game into the Cygnar mirror. The combination of thorough preparation like that and excellent in-game play on the day made him a worthy champion, and winning Iron Gauntlet as well is an incredible achievement.
