Renegade Game Studios Reveal Lantern Dice & The Aquicorn Cove Board Game

Renegade Game Studios have also been chatting about two of their new games dropping for 2019. The first of these is a new roll-and-write (very popular right now) called Lanterns Dice: Lights In The Sky.

In Lanterns Dice: Lights in the Sky, players act as artisans, decorating the palace lake with floating lanterns and launching fireworks to light up the sky. The player who earns the most honour has made the best impression on the emperor and wins.

Roll dice and choose which coloured lanterns players can fill on their scoresheets. Earn gifts to perform special actions, fill in additional coloured lanterns, and create powerful combinations. Cover completed shapes with fireworks tiles to score points and put on a spectacular show!

I am a big fan of roll-and-write games and having Hanabi in my collection maybe it’s a good idea to start combining light shows and dice rolling. Watch out for the release in June.

In addition, they also talked about The Aquicorn Cove Board Game based on the Oni Press original graphic novel by Katie O’Neill.

“In the co-operative game The Aquicorn Cove Board Game, 2-4 players take on the roles of members of a small fishing village struggling to survive while maintaining a balance with the natural world. To win, the villagers must feed and grow their village, while helping to restore the health of the reef and aquatic ecosystem.

The villagers are fortunate, though, and the waters of their cove are home to the beautiful and benevolent aquicorns, as well as the wondrous reef guardian Aure, who can help them both to understand the impact humans are having on the environment and to save the village.”

This sounds great and a fun one for those that want to experience the graphic novel on the tabletop and follow something with a nice message.

You’ll see this game released late in 2019.
