Ranks O' Tanks
We get a closer look at some of the models the Boot Camp members have been putting together. The plastic kits from Battlefront really are fantastic and come packed with detail.
One of the things that we've been most impressed by is how easily they go together AND the way the infantry look in 15mm alongside the tanks. It truly is quite the sight.
Hopefully we'll see some of these armies on the tabletop tomorrow being played with AND they'll have a lick of paint on them too, giving them that personal feel.
Quick work!
Better than any general could hope for
These kits look brilliant.
These look great. Can’t wait to see them with some paint on…
On the German side: by this stage of the war, Rommel’s tank fleet was a very mixed bag due to the difficulty in supplying fresh equipment. Some units had multiple models of the same tank with variations in armour, main gun and so forth. It was the only way to keep the units functioning. The Allies benefitted from their better supply chain, especially from the arrival of lend lease equipment in vast quantities, and of course this was the only theatre where Britain faced Germany in ground combat so it was able to invest a much greater proportion of its… Read more »
Can you imagine the logistical problems of having that many different types of vehicles to repair and find replacement parts for. All the different types of ammunition and different items. That to me would be a nightmare, not to mention the difficulties of just getting the equipment to Africa from Europe. The desert war was a very different type of conflict
I’ve built up a number of the newer battlefront plastic kits and they really do go together well. Nice and quickly too and with kits options and lots of spares for building up objective markers or into the bits box.
The coloured plastics are a nice touch they brought in with the tanks game. Great for an intro product as people can get there minis assembled and play some games with some colour on the table straight away..
Wow they came together quick
Its really pleasing that the model plastic has a color, correct or not, that makes it possible to put on table assembled and tell it apart from opponent and get some games in right away. Love how well the kits look assembled.
Anyone else sensing a nachtwolves 2.0 army here 🙂 THE SANDWOLVES
I’m liking the coloured plastic sprues , reminds , me of the stand soldiers I used to play with 🙂
just curious here, is there a reason the crews are grey and the vehicles/guns are sand? Is that a different type of plastic or just different lots?
battlefront do nice kits. wow i cant image paint 15mm infantry i have trouble with 28mm. Damn my eye
They are some good looking armies very quickly. Does anyone know if coloured plastics take the paint differently to standard greys?
TankoGrad is at full production!
Looking forward to some fast paced desert warfare
I have also assembled a few of the newer kits for TANKS and they have been really nice. I also like the newer infantry bases with the insets/holes for the infantry as opposed to the older flat bases.
Wonder if anyone got a phto of one of the tables where everyone lined up all the tanks in a depot format?
Woah, plastic artillery!
the tank commanders sprue looks like the standard one you get in the boxes so i’m guessing the artillery crew are standard too, hence the grey colour
Ah i didnt see this post and someone must have read my mind about pics of the guns and crews ha ha. Ill have to make a new tin foil hat….
Now that does look really cool, looks like a fresh Panzer company going into the desert. I like the coloured plastic as well so you could get straight into it without even painting anything.
Nice , tanks will roll
needs more flying saucers 🙂 #nachtwolves
Very nice, really jealous I wont get my stuff for a while yet.
looking good
