Quiet Time With The Painters…

While some folks are still powering through games a few step out of the madness for a minute or two to add some paint to their models.

It's neat seeing folks do some hobbying here at the boot camp and getting a few splashes of colour onto their models.

“Why are you not out there playing the game?” – Hell, because playing the game with painted miniature is a lot more fun 😀

C’mon @dignity you should know how much different a little paint makes to your gaming skills 😉

Are these guys painting between games or have they just come to the Boot Camp to paint?

Having painted figures to go with the great tables is why.

But I have to admit that I play with unpainted models far to often.

I am such a terrible painter… but I ready to do my best (which is the worst). 🙂

Keep painting! I have slowly eased myself into it again after many years and my only rule at the moment is to concentrate on tidy lines, have fun with colour choices, and keep testing how much to thin down paints. Best rule so far is two to three thin coats on larger surface areas always beats one thick coat. Have fun painting!

Nobody starts good. Just remember all the rules for coloring from when you’re a kid. Stay in the lines, finish one color before moving on to the next, compliment and contrast, and try not to mix too much.

I think because everyone enjoys the hobby their own way. I guarantee they will be gaming soon. And with painted minis! 🙂

As lovely as playing nonstop games is, it’s absolutly exhausting. I can imagine some downtime is nice.

I really need to start painting mine

The almost meditative state of painting is a vital part of the hobby. Having little time for actual playing, paiting is perhaps the most important part. Also, painted stuff looks really neat.

That’s a good question, now I would accept giving up on drinking time (possibly) to lay down some paint but surely the reason for traveling across the globe and paying to attend the weekend is to learn the game and play the game.

For me (Tim in the vid) no, it was a weekend to Hobby for me, for all sorts of reasons having uninterrupted time to paint is a very rare thing for me, never mind being able to paint in the hallowed ground where we have all enjoyed seeing @elromanozo‘s and @johnlyons amazing paintjobs have come to life was too good an opportunity to miss 🙂 (also played a load of games too mind)

a bit same story with me @nakchak , but another thing was after having 2 games you need rest game is so exhausting ! you are sweating your balls trying to avoid zombies and defeat other group, looting equipment, mentally I needed 30 min break to calm down plan next team and … I am addicted to painting ads every one else in that room ( but somehow @dignity was in every time when I was out 😀 )
