Army Painter RuneWars Hobby Weekend Live Blog – Saturday
Progress Update With Laura
We stop in to find out how Laura has been doing as she has now finished one army and is moving onto her second one.
Will she get them finished by the end of the day? We shall find out...but it looks like things are going well!
Look at John flirting with Laura . Go John! Oh yah, Laura’s skeletons look really nice did she dip them? Usually when they’re dipped they look more shiny and darker.
She dipped them, and gave them a coat of anti-shine
The gloss effect can look good on armour or slimy beasties like that big worm from the undead faction. But the skeletons look better after the anti-shine.
Purple for both faction seem an odd choice. unless plan to merge the two armies into one. even so nice work on the skelly. Make sure BOW show off your painted armies when your done.
I went for the fact I liked the colours I was working with and could play either army and enjoy the scheme.
But I would definitely do one dark brown, red and brass if I was to do it again
I like the soft purple on the skeletons. I like it more than the sort of regal purple on the artwork.
Cracking job.
Awesome looking army. Can’t wait to see what the other faction looks like when it’s done.
Humbled by the fact that Laura painted an entire army in the time it would take me to do a single mini. Go Laura Go!
Agreed. Totally humbled. And not only are they painted, but from what we’ve seen they’re painted well too.
Yes. This is true speed painting. Getting a whole starter box assembled and painted in a weekend is impressive.
Thanks! I actually surprised myself this weekend. Haha
The bone colour on these is just awesome. I will need a colour sheet so I can mimic them. And am I right that the fastest painter there is not really using the Army Painter Speed Technique?
The bone colour is Necronic Flesh primer. No highlights, just the dark tone wash after. I stuck with the AP technique as much as possible!
wow, that is serious speed painting.
Really need to find something to have a purple army with.
I have purple Germans for one of my Bolt Action armies. Anything can be purple if you’re determined enough!
Thats just scary. Shes got to be a robot. Its the only logical explanation.
Oh no! You know my secret! Shush, don’t tell anyone =D
Love seeing something a little different then the standard colors. Good job Laura!
Thank you very much =D
Great job!
great looking skellies, and she achieved that result very fast it seems … has amster of speed painting sneaked into the bootcamp? 😉
speed-typing is not for me it seems …. that should read: has a master
Is the H’amster of Speed Painting the guild mascot? 🙂
well done Laura!
Y’all need to hire her to knock out some of your box sets.
Really fast painting there. I think I’d use something other than purple on the other army to differentiate them on the table easily.
Give that girl a prize .
I wish! The big ol’ paint set would have been a nice addition to the weekend =D
Damn, she’s really putting some of us painters to shame. I dont know if I’d have everthing assembled in the time Laura painted a whole army.
nice job so far
Really enjoying the softer purple over the richer colour shown in the official ones. I am just stunned that an entire army was painted in the course of a day. My armies still languish somewhere in the middle unfinished but just begging to be complete. Oh no I can hear them calling again.
Something interesting…
I haven’t noticed before but, is it just me or does the skeleton actually seem to have some expressions sculpted into them
I noticed that while I was building them. It’s quite a nice little quirk. The humans also have different shouty mouths
sweet! Nice to see some women amongst all the men. Way to show em up Laura!
It was awesome to be there! Thank you
She is doing an awesome job
Wow she finished a small army quicker than I can do a unit!
Just go ahead a hit him!
looks like a well painted army there
