‘plausible deniability’ … kind of sounds like the skirmish game version of ‘Merc 2k’ (the spec ops rpg variant of Twilight 2k).

(ooh … and blood&plunder … any games of that on the show ?)

Yeah, whatever we can do to get more focus on some Moderns era wargaming! Lots of choices and fast, accessible games to get started. 🙂

Tried Ultracombat Normandy today … it was pretty good! Didn’t get a full game, in sadly … but the turn sequence is fluid and intuitive.

The SITREP channel will do what it can! Moderns is literally our “sandbox.” 😀

Sorry, it is humiliating, but what does SANGIN mean?
And what would be the best ruleset for a modern newbie (28mm)?

No worries at all, @jemmy – Sangin is a town in the Helmand province of Afghanistan, where very serious fighting in 2010 more or less provided the inspiration for this game. Both US Marines and UK Royal Marines fought very heavy battles there.

Plausiable deniability sounds like a game version of the unit TV show.

I cannot confirm or deny this. 😀 😀 😀

A wargame a little like an RPG could be interesting.
Not sure how easy this stuff will be to pick up here in the uk, but something new to keep an eye out for.

Its a solid system if you like the very very very small-scale unit action, VERY up close and personal. A whole “army” can be as small as 4-8 men?

Plausible Deniability has to be a candidate for the best title of any book in gaming!

Opens up Modern Wargaming out of the traditional, formal military engagements, or even insurgencies and rebellions and the like. People go full-out organized crime, cartels, smugglers, Russian Mob, arms dealers, etc.

I’d be tempted by some cartel fun.

Some of the Ops as seen in NARCOS show I think would make a great campaign narrative.
