Bolt Action: Western Desert Boot Camp Live Blog - Sunday
Oriskany's Desert Campaign Continues To Develop
Throughout the weekend, our historical editor Oriskany has been running a campaign based on the historical events of the conflicts in the Western Desert.
People have been feeding their wins and losses to Oriskany, who has changed the map accordingly. It looks like the campaign may soon be reaching its climactic end…
So, was the battle plan realistic? Will history repeat itself and will the Allies chase the germans out of Afrika?
…things look tense! 🙂
@timeslayer – we may have a bit of an upset in store … 😀
@skodamarine – absolutely! The colonels are deep in thought! 😀
Comon Rommel! I wanna see the Germans change history 😀
Stay tuned … 😀
Did anyone suggest a diplomatic solution? Think outside the box, guys.
To quote Monty Python’s Life of Brian “Peace !?! f#(k Peace!”
The diplomats had their chances in 1938-39. When civilian diplomats drop the ball, it falls to the soldier.
Looks like its may be a very narrow win for the Victor by the end
and the the hpe of the brits ends with the live stream in a draw… eh win i mean win 😀
@warhammergrimace – it comes down to the wire.
@Rot6 – yep, it comes down to the last big game between Charlie and @johnlyons.
that game was an obvious win. watch the last few seconds of stream, its 100% a british win 😀
They told me it was a draw. So I just go with what they’re telling me. 😀 If that last game with Charlie / John really was a Britsih win, it totally changes the outcome of the campaign, though. 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁
Are the brits at Tobruk getting rescued then?
Excited to see the end result
@collins – the British garrison in Tobruk is definitely doing well – it remains to be seen whether 7th Armoured / XXX Corps can reach them over the airfield at Sidi Rezegh.
@patrickkyle82– stay tuned! 😀
the pressure is on
The game faces are on!
Indeed, @normandyfan and @toricova – the guys were really getting into it! 😀
This is so cool … *sighs in yearning*
I like the fact that this was visible to all throughout the bootcamp – giving people a feel for their army / theatre beyond the generic “Desert Rats in the desert”.
We can start something similar for an online campaign, @beardragon14.
Thanks, @georgesealy.
difficult to see look to be moving to the brits win overall.
Kind of is looking like the Germans won the campaign
More turns of fortune are in store, @zorg and lupa15. Overall, the British started strong and the Germans started playing catch up. Would they pass the Brits and wind up on top?
Quite a few German victories in that last round by the looks, can’t wait to see what happens from here.
Great campaign so far.
Thanks, @fireblarney and @folerox – the campaign definitely takes a fateful turn at Sidi Rezegh.
Please, tell us more about that. It Looks cool and cries for repetition, setting it up with your own gaming group or whatever.
More on this campaign is definitely coming out later in the blog, @jemmy.
I dig it man, it adds a tension.
Thanks, @coachjose59 – here are the final results:
