Gen Con 2018 Live Blog: Day Three
New Game Root Spreads Itself Through GenCon [Comment To Win!]
Leder Games are at GenCon with their new game Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right.
We chatted with the game’s illustrator about what this cute looking game is all about.
COMMENT TO WIN A COPY OF ROOT!
Really enjoy the artwork of the game.
Root sounds like an interesting game. I don’t have any asymmetric games for more than two players, since I haven’t seen many of these and never got into Vast.
I’ve been looking at this game for a while. Really like the artwork style.
With sure I want to put my hands on a copy of this game. Beautiful art. My game group is going to enjoy it.
Looks good. I like all of the art direction on the game. Asymmetric games are almost always interesting, can’t wait try this game.
THIS is what I would be buying if I were at the con, first on my list to purchase. SOOO regret not backing the Kickstarter. I didn’t originally “get” the rules but since I have seen a few videos that cleared things up for me. I will be buying this at some point (soon!).
Okay, this game does interest me. Hitting my wish list.
This games looks really interesting, it would be amazing for a good game night
ah damn I love asymmetric games and the art style is brilliant I absolutely adore that
Yes, I can see animals of the forest being militarised in an area-control war game.
After all, everyone knows that much of the wildlife in the UK is military-trained and so extremely dangerous. Owls have stealth technology and Badgers are hard-core elite commandos – don’t mess with those bad boys! Squirrels are mainly recon scouts and what rabbits do is mainly classified – probably something to do with a network of early warning radar stations.
I love this new wave of asymmetric board games like Vast. Excited for this one.
Great looking game but I want to try it before I buy it so hopefully they are PAX Unplugged.
Sounds like an interesting game.
Sound’s good.
I have been looking forward to Root for a while, It looks awesome!
Nice artwork. Love the concept.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this game.
Creepy eyed animals, looks good
Looks interesting. I’ll have to research the artist.
Vast always looked impressive
interesting
looks cool
How big is this man 😀
Sort of a A symmetrical Cthulu wars sort of think. I think it sounds like fun.
As so many others have said, the artwork is a delight. This looks like a game that children would be able to engage with well, both in terms of theming and from what I have seen of game play (I have seen reports that the player aids are incredibly well designed and help with this).
