Flames Of War D-Day Boot Camp: Friday
Meet The Boot Campers! - Time To Get Hobbying
There are plenty of Boot Campers here this weekend, including a few first timers who are ready for their very first experience of Flames of War.
John talked to a couple of them to see how they’re getting on, as well as Warren who is returning once again to the fields of WWII.
No flying saucers!!!! ?? What happened to @warzan historical accuracy? You need at least one Haunebu-type German flying saucer in each army.
Well, he did say “probably” wouldn’t do it. I guess in @warzan speak that means “very likely” to “almost certainly” that he would!
True.
The game is making a heck of a surge in popularity. Our local game store in Pennsylvania is starting to sell product from the shelf.
Hey, I live in PA. What store is selling it?
They will learn to love it John, or it’s of to the Gulags for them! ?
I am so buzzed by this weekend, I’m a huge fan of WW2 history and especially D-Day, they truly were the golden generation and I don’t think we show them enough appreciation in society, thank you so much guys for teaming up with Battlefront if I could find a local hobby centre that ran FoW I’d be there right now playing, keep it coming ???
Used to play this a while back didn’t catch on around here but it is making a comeback big style. Keep up the good blogs
planning for a lot of content hopefully
The nice thing about the sprues is that you can make one platoon as per the instructions and you can swap some of the riflemen for the other platoon so they are not identical to the first.
Watch out for Warren’s hydra drugs they’re EVIL!!!! Can’t watch the vids yet???
that’s suppoed to be Hyrda Stugs bot drugs. Damn you predictive text and dodgy Portuguese Wifi
This weekend has been a great reminder to dust of the old Flames of War set I had started working on and try to get it to the table. Appreciate the inspiration.
Congrats to Dr. Dave on the little one on the way but it would have been great to see him and @warzan back together for some WWII tabletop fun.
Here here! Dave was awesome!
I dont recall having much difficulty with the kits I built. Their instructions were helpful, and I think colour coded between different iterations of tanks.
aye they’re fairly easy to do
Warren can add those Hydra decals later 😀
Keep at it @warzan, need more tanks there.
Guessing the smaller scale is different for the younger guys?
I’m sure the younger guys will love the game. The older I’ve gotten the more I’m attracted to smaller scale games as more can get on the table with the same effort.
Wait, wait are you saying there weren’t flying saucers in WWII?
of course there was I’ve seen the historical document Iron Skies
no flying saucers still leaves the ark of the covenant
It’s sad to see what happened to the world for what these brave men fought for.
Should have slapped him…insubordination wont be tolerated soldier. lol
good to see warzan have some fun.
No flying saucers or STUGs????? This CAN’T be Warren!!!!!
LOL Flying Saucers. You want that Play DUST 1947!
Nice having a good set of instructions with the kits.
I think flying saucers and a P-1000 Ratte (or two!) would be a great addition to a German force.
Its good to see younger players having a go, historical gaming is still largely seen as an older gents hobby in my area, luckily with the intro of bolt action and even some sharp practice this is changing.
I’ve never built a 15mm mini, let alone played a 15mm game so this is all very interesting.
