I gave up smoking about the time my blood pressure started getting bad, and took up drinking green tea. So, for the last few years I have been drying out the green tea bags and dumping the used, dried tea in containers and stashing the empty bags away. The tea makes great scatter and the bags work for painting up miniature flags and banners. The price is right and leaves me enough pocket change for a new mini now and then, or a bottle of Laphroaig to make up for the healthy effects of all that tea-drinking. — Doug.

Laphroaig tastes like band-aids in the best way possible, somehow. Great tip, Doug!

I’ve used a mix of roughly ground loose tea and teabag tea, because I don’t really drink it much. I tend to prefer Jura or Glenfiddich myself.

We drink enough tea in the office to make this work 😀

Thanks to @theterraintutor taught me, a touch of some kind of flow-aid in that paint/water mix will help get it even further into all of the little nooks and crannies. A teeny tiny bit of dish soap mixed in will make it even more like a wash. Loving this live-blog so far!

Liking this vlog, especially the jungle part. I plan to mount all the models on clear bases to make the most of the graphics on the tiles. 2.5D will be added on later

Some fine tea would do the job too I guess

Looks very effective and the plants you are adding blend into the tiles seamlessly.

looks good, you could try Tesco dried mixed herbs you get 30g for less than a quid?

I saw someone use tea leaves and dried coffee grounds to make forest scatter.

Moss cut with scissors until fine (dry moss)

Used tea leaves, and/or ground cork might get the effect you’re after.

The used tea leaves method just works perfect, plus it looks just like the stuff you’re using Lloyd – I already tried it out 🙂

HAHA! I was about to close the full-screen vid and search for basecraft stuff. Then the additional came!

So many clever people here, I was going to suggest Tea leaves or dried herbs. What do they say,’ Great minds think alike”. lol

I was really hoping for another ‘additional’ bit with Lloyd completely losing it. lol
