Lloyd's Frosted Snow Bases
Come and take a look at what Lloyd has been tinkering away on. Here we have his techniques for snow bases and frost, allowing for a slushy, icy mix.
As you can see it looks very effective and creates a fascinating look which makes for some cool 'White Walker' skeletons.
Stop basing and get on with your army painting, slacker 🙂
great basing tip
nice tips and looking good
That’s pretty neat. I might have to try that one for myself.
End result of this is very nice.
Good tip
I’ve heard of baking soda reacting with moisture down the road. Is that true? Will it last like that? Or will it react and go bad?
Because it’s mixed with superglue it won’t be a problem – thank the TerrainTutor for that little tip 😉
Thanks Ben
This will work for my Russian Bolt Action army!
I was thinking the same for my K47 Russkies
I really like this technique. I really want to try this now. Thanks for sharing!
Some nice tips here .
I was waiting for this. Lloyd always has great ideas for new techniques. Like the basing work. 😉
Nice one. I heard baking soda can go yellow over time or is that just if you use PVA rather than super glue? Beware the yellow snow!
PVA is water based, so it will attract moisture – which then turns it yellow. If you use super glue then it won’t be a problem.
Once again, thanks to TheTerrainTutor for his help 😉
Another great tip. Thanks.
love that look and tip.
Nice idea, the baking soda. I’ll have to try it myself. At least that is something the other half buys.
What a great effect!
That is one nifty trick.
Fantastic looking stuff there @Lloyd
Really nice tip!
Nice look and it’s nice to see the base edges being painted a color other than black. It marks an army as a group whereas the oft used black makes me think that it’s just unused primer. I’ll have to try this tip with my KoW ogres.
Dang, Justin, you beat me to the rock joke. And you didn’t make Lloyd blow his cork.
Get more done!
Super effective winter bases.
Great basing information! Thanks for sharing!
cool tips
Excellent base work. Not so much snow as ice effect. Works well!
