Army Painter RuneWars Hobby Weekend Live Blog – Sunday
Learn To Play RuneWars: The Miniatures Game
Justin steps into a couple of rounds of play with our demo guy, Az, as he runs you through the basics of the game; enough for you to get your own games in and learn how to battle it out with the forces of the Daqan and the Waiqar.
Follow along and let us know what you think of the game so far as we learn more about the advanced rules too AND the tactical nuances behind it.
You'll find yourself looking a few turns ahead with this game!
Lovely table! 4ground buildings I presume.
Yup 4Ground buildings 🙂
Thank you for these demo rounds. This looks a great game! Tempted to treat myself to this 😉 Lovely tabletop set-up there.
Yea now to see how to play in quality!
how many bases/models are on the table if you play a “standard” game ?
Or how many points are you playing and how many points will be the standard ?
Twice this size has been mentioned
Was absolutely great to get to demo and play with all the folks at the Hobby Weekender yesterday. Once you get onto a 3×6 table and have 200 points to spend you’ll start to see just how much the support cards and models can make for an incredibly flexible game. Az
nice paints!!! I love the hobby weekend, I love you 😀
That was a really good sampler and I feel like I have a much better sense of the game now. There’s a serious X-Wing vibe going on there. I like it.
Well FFG does it again…Force me to invest in yet another game…
If I didnt know better id wager money that FFG and BoW was out to bankrupt me completely, but I dont have any money to wager since they all go to FFG…
Ill just surrender my wallet and credentials directly.
I love the way that you play at the same time as each other, really good to minimising the downtime before you get to do anything. We all have that friend that takes an age to play! And the constant balance between high initiative to get your move in Vs the power of your attack makes for some really interesting interactions and tactical thinking.
Good stuff…I definitely see a purchase in my future! 🙂
So much table clutter 🙁
I just worry this will become a card game with miniatures. This is how X-wing always feels to me. I like minis games where the abilities of the model you field/face do not vary drastically round to round. Just my preference.
Nice and simple mechanics, reminds me of X-Wing.
Damn. Promised myself not to invest in new games for a while. Shouldn’t have watched this.
Still undecided, I’ve still got Halo and Terminator waiting to be painted. ,as well as stack of minis from other games to fill out armies.
I really like Fantasy Flight combat mechanics. This looks really nice.
seems really complex
This seems like a very fun, if very complex, game. Lovely looking miniatures.
quite intrigued by the rules, though I’d like to see a full demo game as well
Awww, that looks neat, there is no escape for me… stupid delayed launch
The game mechanics look interesting. What I’d like to know how crowded will normal sized game be and how much terrain can you use.
once you’ve learnt the symbols it’s easy I suppose, until then it’s going to be slow going
Awesome
That looks like a really fun, tactical game. The terrain table looks fantastic as well!
Looks really fun
Need more demos.
