John's Painting Tutorial - Carrion Lancer
We sit down for another painting tutorial from John as he shows off what you can do to make the Carrion Lancer look great.
As you can see the techniques on show here really do reveal a fantastic method for painting up a larger creature in your Waiqar force.
What’s the stuff the paint is on i.e the paper pallette
It looks like a wet palette. Use parchment paper (not wax paper) over a wet sponge or wet paper towel. A little bit of water is absorbed through the parchment and keeps the paint wet so you can extend the working time.
Yeah, it looks like John is using wax paper which has detached from the sponge.
Best one yet, love the look of it.
I would like to see how you made that wet pallet
love the purple flesh effect
That looks great! What would you say the total time was from start to finish?
I was really curious about that as well. I don’t mind the edits to the video but it’d be interesting to hear how long it took in total.
Very nice. The carrion lancer looks amazing and I really like the sculpt. What a great idea.
Love the purple and the color of the worm. 🙂
The worm looks awesome.
Very nice John.
thankyou john
That carrion lancer looks great. Fab tutorial, thank you.
Actually, on this one, the “shininess” of the quickshade would have added something fun to the miniature, making it look more slimy.
Dunno… it’s nice but maybe i would have gone for more contrast with the carapace!^^
loved the purple tone
Came out really nice! Loving the wet palette with the thumb tacks
very nice job.
Love, love, love this mini! I would go with very dead looking mini.
Another great job John..nice simple paint scheme, will look brilliant on the table and that what this paint system and this weekend is all about is it not….
another great video
The model turned out really great!
Very nice love the character and pose, the paint job gives it life great colour scheme too,
great paint scheme & tutorial
and I’d like to see a series of videos about the basics like wet pallette
Amazing
Fantastic job. Ditto for a new paint series. I’d love to see speed painting vs not with the same model. The different techniques used would be educational.
A great job John, love the mix of purple tone on the bottom and dark tone on the top.
