And that is it. We’re at the end of four amazing days here at Essen SPIEL ’18 where the team has been working on overdrive to bring you the best board games, card games, miniatures releases and more that have caught our eye during our trip.
As well as a bundle of awesome prizes we’ve also been able to talk to some amazing designers and learn about the passion that fuels their projects too.
We hope that you have enjoyed this as much as we have and can’t wait to get playing more board games when we return to Ireland!
Great coverage, really enjoyed following along. Based on the coverage I am torn between swordcrafters and warpgate as my game of choice but if i had to choose only one I am going to go for swordcrafters just for the tactileness of building that sword.
If you could only bring one game back what would it be?
I must say I am very disappointed at the lack of wargaming related coverage.
Yeah, it was mainly boardgames for Essen, it’s a huge boardgame tradeshow!
Been there last year, there’s a hall jam packed with almost exclusively wargaming related stuff. Would have loved to see what those guys brought to Spiel, since European companies usually use Spiel to reveal new stuff. You can also see by the amount of comments that people here aren’t really that interested in board games. So, quite strange priorities imho.
