While custom dice are cool a cheap alternative could be to paint the pips on a normal d6 with a colour to mark success/failure?

Just paint out the numbers you don’t need. But yes that would work

Can we have example of what we can do with critical?

Critical successes are worth two or sometimes three successes when making rolls.

I am so glad I am not the only one thinking dice with symbols will work better (maybe “Better” is the wrong word). It would be a lot easier and as Gerry says, Its just a glance to see what you have done rather than refer to the QRS.

Great idea with the blank dice.

Totally get where Gerry is coming from, anything that frees the mind and can make it easier to get a grasp of the more complicated rules gets my vote.

I’d prefer custom dice as well. Having a system that works with regular D6 is great, it doesn’t force you to buy new dice to play the game, but failure/success/critical dice makes it so much more straightforward. And of course, as a sucker for custom gaming accessories I’d buy dice with faction symbols in a heartbeat.

This is a system that needs custom dice. Not really any different than what FFG does for their Star Wars games, it is just a different level of successes depending on dice color. Smart move there.

The new designers dice would be good for this.

Custom dice get rid of a form of book keeping, which you would get used to but can do without,
As such I’m all for custom dice.
However also having the dice defined with normal D6 is great for the beta test or when you’ve managed to forget the correct dice at home.

Love the dice shortcut, the dice mechanic as it stands seems the weakest element if the whole game.

Interesting system with the dice, this makes it easier to read than to remember which color hits/crits on what.

These dice will definitely speed up the game, especially while learning it.

Custom dice would be the way to go to make things a lot easier to remember and speed the game up a little.

Agree with the idea of custom dice. makes definetly things easyer for beginners like me. I would rather go for different dice shapes, because i just like polyhedrons

Custom dice all the way. In a earlier post I mentioned make the symbols or design a bit different to help out us colorblind people,

I think it would just be a case of using the symbols

4Ground said yesterday that they’d be bringing out custom dice as lots of similar comments. Definitely a needed thing for accessibility I think.

totally agree on that, the normal d6 system is a little bit confusing, I would prefer to have custom dice
