Gav Thorpe Runs Open Combat

Gav Thorpe is here running his game of Open Combat by Second Thunder today at Salute This is quite the awesome game packed with some cool cinematic action moments.

It would be cool to get a closer look at this game in the future since it really does work as a toy box for wargamers.

I would be interested of what would happen if you would let all the ex-GWists to try their hand on a GW IP.

Gav also doesn’t look anymore like the picture I remember him from.

I was half expecting Justin to ask for an autograph by the end of the video 🙂

Open Combat ounds like a cool system by the way. I think I’ll have to look into that. I’m one of those gamers.

This sounds good. You can collect the minis you like and use them together.

Open combat – interesting, like the quick skirmish game approach. Big Stompy Robots, sounds really fun!

Gav Thorpe is such a powerhouse, and I am now intrigued with stompy robots. Ut really keen on the Strontium Dog license. If they get some good sculpts, it should be killer.

If you’re going to any shows in the UK this year I can give your quick demo. I’m at Chillcon in Sheffield May 27th and UK Games Expo first weekend in June.

Awesome the dude who wrote my favorite Black Library and 40k series of books: The Last Chancers. I wish he was one of the lead writers on the Horus Heresy series and not Dan Abnett.

On 2000ad game if anyone remembers the 1st edition 40K rogue trader book- the Mutant creation tables were awesome. If this is included and expanded for The Strontium Dogs game. OMG it will be a pure win just for that

I like the idea of a skirmish game where you point buy build the men.

That sounds like a very adaptive game. Fabulous sounding flexibility of play, great.
