Fantasy Flight Games Tell Us About A Galaxy Far, Far Away
There are a lot of exciting new goings on in the Star Wars universe and we stopped by with Fantasy Flight Games to hear more about X-Wing 2.0.
Are you excited to get started with X-Wing 2.0?
I had to stop buying ships in wave 4 or 5. I wish I had played with them more.
I’m actually pretty excited. I’m relatively new to the game in 1st edition, but I’d still have to buy all the conversion kits if I want to keep playing. That said, I really like some of the thing they’ve done with the game, and I’m pretty excited to crack it open!
I wouldn’t mind getting into this again, too many ships just sitting on my shelf. They need more love.
Excellent game, beautiful ships.
Very interested to seeing the new mechanics in action and how streamlined gameplay reflects the changes. The focus on Force characters being more powerful/skillful will hopefully not unbalance lists but I have confidence in FFG! Now…how to convince my friends to upgrade their sets… What am I talking about, they have probably pre-ordered everything! 😀
Oh and it was so cute how nervous Johanna was at being put on the spot at the start of the interview, poor wee lass. I imagine by the end of the weekend she will be cool as a cucumber! 🙂
As a very casual gamer these days, I have to say I like everything I have read about 2.0, it seems very new player friendly.
Am I excited? Yes. Is my wallet excited? Hell no! 😀 Still, most of the changes seem like they will be positive and should bring a lot of players back to the game. Interestingly one of the few things I dont like the idea of is the introduction of Force as a core rule in a setting where pilots who can wield the Force – or are even simply sensitive to it – are massively outnumbered by those who do not. It makes me wonder why the ability to use the force wasn’t simply an upgrade card. Oh, and full… Read more »
wondering how many conversion kits are needed if you have multiple versions of an expension
I´m looking forward to the X-Wings. No more modifing by myself 😉
am i excited, i am now. era specific and narrative game play that’s balanced is all i ever wanted from X wing.
this is going to be very difficult to resist.
Honestly was a little annoyed when i heard this was happening, but, after hearing all the 2.0 new bits Im quite excitemd. I think its the right move to make
I’ve really enjoyed X-Wing v1.x, (and have to say Wings of War/Glory is one of my all-time favorites.) But I’m waiting for a few reviews and OTTs before I dive into v2.x. I expect upgrading my ship collection to the new stats is going to be a wallet buster.
Like others I know I gave up with this, just couldn’t keep up with the wave releases but I’m tempted to dip my toes back in now with 2.0.
I am very excited for 2.0 and already have my pre-order in. I can’t wait and hope it reboots the community.
Still debating upgrading. While I don’t have as large a collection as some of my opponents when 2.0 comes out most of us will find ourselves focusing one faction over another because of upgrade costs.
As a casual player, I’m glad they are tearing everything down. The only play options locally are against competitive tournament players and not having the latest, greatest list made for a negative play experience. I’m hoping this will turn it around for both competitive and casual play.
X-wings with working foils? Must have.
I saw somewhere that the conversion kits weigh a ton due to the amount of stuff in them. Handy for me as I have everything (and then some)…
I was playing in the 1st day of the European Champs on Friday and one of my first stops on this morning will be to have a look at 2.0……I cannot wait
I boght my last ships about two years ago – the reboot isn’t that exciting to me. In fact, it encurages me to think about selling my ships.
Have both starter sets and a ton of ships…but don’t know if I’m going to jump in to 2.0. Hmmm
Really interested to see how this plays. Enjoyed playing X-Wing as a casual gamer. Never interested playing more because it didn’t have the feel of the movies and to be competitive you had to buy and more stuff as the balance wasn’t maintained. Hope this new edition does it better.
Something tells me this will be one of the busier stands.
Looks like this is a good time to get into this game!
Great game!
