Fancy Playing Out The Battle Of Raphia?
It looks like if you fancy delving into the world of Ancient Wargaming there is a tabletop for you to get stuck into.
This one plays out The Battle Of Raphia and shows off some awesomeness as the two armies clash with big elephants and masses of ranked spearmen.
Simon Miller is a great chap and the rules To the Strongest are a great set
Brilliant set of rules played on a grid can’t recommend them enough
Waiting for his ECW set to come out and I think a fantasy version is in the offing
looks epicly big.
Ive been looking at ancient stuff for a while but havent managed to decide on anything yet, may have to look into this
Those epic mass battles are not my kind of game… but wow does it look massive
Truly epic battle. Mass-ranked tabletop gaming at its finest.
I like all sizes of engagements, but quantity definitely has a quality all of its own 🙂
That’s one big gaming table!!
Massive game. What a great table.
Not bad at all
Gotta love the original tanks. Armoured elephants with fortresses on their backs. Pure Awesome
nearly mammoths
That is a big piece of teddy fur.
As far as I am aware from To the Strongest blog pages its actually an 18 foot long mat that Deepcut made for the Wargames holiday centre
Wow! that’s a battle i will love to watch. Those army are superb.
Whoa, that looks kinda amazing!
it is just stunning to see a fully painted ancient battle.
Battle of Rafia huh? (Quickly & unobtrusively reads blurb in the photo)
Oh yeah yeah yeah… Ptolemy… IV, right?
Blatantly Not revealing my ignorance… 😛
I wouldn’t mind seeing some of Simon’s collection one of these years.
Epic armies!
Small scale, big table = impressive looking battles that really feel like battles. Looks awesome.
Very nice looking game, elephants are always going to be a big hit.
Can’t work out the scale of it though. Maybe 12mmish.
Its 28mm
this looks superb. well done simon
Nothing beats the spectacle of mass battle games, especially nicely painted on a good board.
