Days Of Wonder Build Up Society On The River

Days of Wonder are giving demos of their new game The River, creating new societies on the banks of a verdant stream.

The River sees players working to build their settlements on the banks of the titular river, utilising the many resources to be found there. There is an interesting balance between resource gathering and construction as you seek to gain the most victory points. However, you have to be careful as your supply of settlers will dwindle as they decide to settle down.

This is one of my shortlistgames in Essen 2018. Sadly I´m not there. Thank you for coverage!

The idea reminds me of the quintology “Riverworld of Time” that I read some time ago. I know there was a movie, but that was awful. This game seems much better.

Could Days of Wonder produce a board game version of the original Tropico computer game, please? Their games are really colourful and would be perfect for this carribean worker placement / Economic simulation game.

Days Of Wonder is a wonderful company, and this looks like the next big thong.
