Flames Of War 4th Edition Boot Camp: Day Two
Community Games - James Vs Wayne
We stop in with James (oriskany) and find out how his game went from the first round of campaign battles.
Things seem to be exploding all over the place which is in one sense a great thing...and in another, pretty terrible for the Germans.
We'll be catching up with more of the gamers over the next hour or so to talk to them about their games.
NIce quick look at a battle.
How are people finding Version 4 plays? How are things comparing between Version 3 and 4?
A couple guys out here in Canada have been muddling through some of the spoiled rules for version 4 and messing around with it. We’ve got a few youtube videos up on one of our local’s channels:

C’mon James. DAK for the win!
🙁 Sorry. I tried my best.
I really screwed up with those 88s.
Like to hear Version 4 loved. looking forward to seeing more battle reports.
Initial deployment seems to be wellnigh pivotal – particularly as the artillery appears to be rendered static in this instance as there are no tractor units in play.
I really like the afrika korps dice looks great
They ARE cool. Nothing beats that feeling when you roll them and that little palm tree comes up for the “six”
The battles look great on those tables!
Come on afrika korps you can do it 🙂
Looks like you are all having good fun
That one looks like a hard table to play on, not much LoS blocking. The sucess of lend-lease looks pretty spot on though.
Dice Devils offers a few good battle report of 4th ed with beautiful terrain and very nicely painted mini….worth a look.
James, why deploy the 88s this way…..Ahhhh!
I know, I know, I know! I’ll never make that mistake again.
I don’t like artillery fire on the receiving end either.
Still not a fan of on the board heavy arty, but alas.
intense stuff!
Nice to see the Brits kicking a bit of A$$
Arrrgh! I am so wanting V4 to be released now!
How are those tables to play on? We used the sand/paint/pva method on some tables we used in tournaments and people kept getting scraped by the sand. Ultimately we had to go back and add a few coats of polycrylic to them.
No problems so far, @mwcannon – the sand is a pretty fine grain so it’s not very coarse or sharp. And the tables have been getting beaten up pretty bad too with heavy use and are holding up very very well.
V4 looks nice!
Justin needs a weather check 🙂
Good luck guys
Looks like lots of little plastic bloodshed
Great looking tables. I may get divorced as I am planning my next table watching these videos. I need more buildings… lol. Marriage or buildings? To close to choose right now 🙂
Great open board, which matches the terrain out there.
Folks got some good looking models on the board pretty quickly!
Gotta be honest, I painted my army in advance. But you’re right, @irontom – some of these guys are making an amazing amount of progress in a very hectic weekend.
good job Wayne.
