Quick Painting With Bob Talking Scylla & Alven Yard

Justin sits down with Bob to talk about some of the hobby opportunities afforded by picking up both the Scylla and The Alven Yard as his factions of choice.

How would you approach painting these factions when it came to these factions?

Help the Wolsung site says it can’t ship to me in the US.

I really hope that isn’t the case.

Wolsung figures deserve more then just being primed.

Airbrush is my way to start off, nice and clean, priming, pre shading, base colour, highlights. Then go to the Brush and get the details in.

Not a bad idea to get going to be honest!

@tmon wow, I hope maybe you accidentally missed something. Would be very strange if Wolsung cant ship ship to the US. Unless you’re using a PO box, which pretty much most places wont ship to.

At least it gets down on the table quick that way.

A quick basic paint job – enough to get started on the table – while leaving space for painting upgrade at a later date – great concept

Bob you have the idea. That’s the two i’d pick.

Still not sure what factions I would chose. I like the Halfling Mobsters, but …

I would probably consider doing what Bob is doing but would work on and off on one of the factions over the weekend.

I love the primer and tone painting scheme. Very fast and very clean.

This is an excellent idea for a brush and go to get into the game.

I do like the colour of the primer which will give a great effect to the washes

Good way to get your minis down at a boot camp looking respectable and then finish them off at a later date.

Depending on what supplies are available, priming black and a quick zenithal white highlight can really make a model pop and show off all its detail for little to no effort. Great for getting something out of the box and on the table in no time at all, and leave it ready to paint later.

That’s an interesting idea to get up and running quickly. The shading also makes it easier to see all the details when you start the proper painting afterwards.

Nice idea to get a game up and running quickly with distinguishable sides. Also it helps when you start painting properly later on since you can see where the darker patches are.

Great idea just get something on the table, ’cause these models really do deserve nice paint jobs.

I like the suggestion of a Dick Tracy-esque scheme for the Scylla mobsters. Bright colours would certainly stand out on the table.

I like doing a similar thing when I get new models for games it’s what I like about the dust models
