Fabled Realms Beta Weekend - Saturday
Busy Beta Testing
Now that everyone has had a game or two, they are starting to explore the rules further.
Some are getting stuck into making their own warbands, while others are finding ways to tweak and improve the Beta rules.
Custom dice will make it easier to grasp the die rolls quicker, good thing that it is in the works.
I agree, I have found the regular dice system very confusing, but it might be because i’m not playing it yet.
One great thing about this boot camp is that the participants become beta testers. I hope 4Ground uses the feedback to improve the game even more.
It looks like the Glutton in one of the pictures is toast.
im liking the idea of custom dice more and more
Custom dice, nice. Loving those sculpts!
the models do look really good
I feel bad for 4ground because they have gotten pulled back and forth on the custom dice thing. But if it improves the game, that’s great. I feel like this dice system will be similar to walking dead’s. where there are different dice with different odds, but not necessarily lots of different symbols.
I really envy the guys that are over there playing. While you get to play on great tables with awesome miniatures, you also are helping to test and improve the rules for Fabled Realms.
Really loved the original custom dice the game had so hopefully there will be an option to get something similar.
Is Gaz really thinking hard about a new character, or is he starting to flag??
nice dice
They are so intense, this much be so much fun. and the meta must be so much fun to dive into.
Gaz with out a a paint brush, at a bootcamp!
Must be one for posterity!
mmm dice
I don’t really like the dice system, and while I’m complaining, would It be so hard to geht some sleeves and a sharpy and drew so on theres or is there an endless supply of new blank cards
I’m catching up from yesterday, and now I am seeing Gerry’s dice in action.
I think some of the concern over custom dice is fairly valid. But even with the current coloured dice system, there’s still that initial learning hurdle of which dice corresponds to which level. It’s a tough one, and not a choice I’d like to have to make!
What happened to the custom poly dice?
The mechanics changed to custom D6. It changes the statistical probability of rolls so from a design point of view it is easier. But it also allows people to play without having to source polys that they may not have to hand.
Fabled Realms looks promising!
That’s what this weekend was actually about, right? ^^
