Ok, for demo purposes here’s a question that’s being asked by viewers all across the world: how tasty are those sandwiches?

I would be interested to know how many of the attendees plan continue on with drop zone commander after be introduced to it at the event. Also if thy those who go forward keep to the faction they chose for the boot camp or change factions and why.

The answer to that last question is both. I’ll keep the PHR and have at least one other army, probably Scourge who offer a very different playstyle.

The same goes for me, even if odds are I will end up with all 5

Will the segment where the attendees learn the rules from the Hawk guys be sent live for us who aren’t there? Or is that exclusive to the attendees?

Maybe a question for the end of the event, but how did someone travelling by themselves and not knowing anybody else beforehand find it?

redben

I travelled by myself. I had met a couple of people at last year’s Salute Friday night get together but that was the extent of it. If the thought of going to an event where you don’t know anyone beforehand is putting you off the don’t let it. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is great.

Is john the only staffer building an army? Everyone else busy blogging and being good hosts? Or do they have armies ready already?

Are all the people attending new to the game? Have they played it but never bought an army? Or do they have an army and this is a nice way to expand or get another army they’ve being looking at? For Hawk games: How long before the space battles aspect of this universe is realized as a game? What are the status of miniatures and rules? Do they have any plans for more armies other than what they have already released? Are there plans for expanding the fluff of the game? (Much of my enjoyment in a game comes from… Read more »

The impression I got was that it was a mix of people who were completely new to DzC, people who had starter armies but had never played, and people who had played a few times.

I asked Dave about the spaceship battle game. We’ll get some sneaky peaks at some stuff at Salute, but the release date for the game won’t be until at least the end of the year.

For Hawk games:
How is the space battle game for DZC coming along? Will there be rules that allows players to make campaigns where you fight over planets first in space and then give your army on the planet befits depending on the result of how the space battles unfolded?

Is there hope for DZC to have an USA direct sales option? Love the look of the game but the British Pound to US Dollar conversion really hurts unless there is a huge deal especially with shipping and all. The special you have right now is great and I will take a serious look at the 10% off offer you are running for the weekend just wondering if the future holds any specials for us on the other side of the world? Thanks so much!

What are the next units the Boot Campers wanting to add to their starter sets?

redben

Type 4 Hades Walker. That thing is a beast.

rasmus

Nemesis type 4 command walker, and some drones/scouts

@Hawk The backround of the game sounds interresting…are there plans for novels in the future?

Actually. I quite like this question. I’d love to read some novels based in the Dropzone universe. 🙂

This one also came up. The problem with doing novels in the DzC universe right now is that the background is currently not fleshed out sufficiently. It means any writer is going to have to make stuff up to fill the gaps and that isn’t something Dave wants to happen. This is pure speculation on my part but It might be that now James is on board to do some writing that that hurdle can be cleared.

I like that you’re going around and interviewing the members, I think that’s awesome; my only request is to see a bit of everyone, sorta put names to faces; I feel like they are the extended BoW family and this is a (re?)union of sorts 🙂

How well does the game scale up?
I only ask because you have a lot of tables, a lot of models and a fair few players. Would a massive all in, two side game be possible?

redben
Member

The standard tournament game size is 1500pts (the starter armies are around 500pts). The biggest game Dave is aware of was ran at 10,000pts and apparently it scaled up with no problems.

Which force does Dave think will win the competition?

herrigold

Or Warren… or Lloyd or Justin.

By my count, the current range of DZC is comprised of a combination of plastic, resin, and metal minis/bits. Does that create any challenges when it comes to designing and production/manufacturing, or does it create more options and possibilities?

docmonocle

Also, is the eventual goal to go for just one material across the line (as best as possible), or to evaluate the needs of each miniature or set individually?

Is it possible to ask Dave directly if he knows about KR Mulitcase coming out with anymore of the foam cases, especially for the newer models such as Resistance and the Reconquest phase 1 models and new command units?
Thanks

rasmus

He did cover that, and they seem to be working on it – maybe not as fast as Dave would like but such is the joy of working with 3rd party companies

I want a list that is wholly centered on these units: NT-4 Leviathan
Battle Bus, Gun Technical, Model 109 Breaching Drill. As many as possible. I think this would be fantastic. The question to Hawk et. al., is would this be not only fun army to play but competitive? Thanks guys.

Is learning the rules pretty easy? Also was wondering how many of the BOW crew are going to join in?

@lorddraconum, I didn’t go to the boot camp 🙁 and I’m only just now getting round to catching up on the ‘live’ blog. But I went to the Hawk Wargames open weekend / tournament in Croydon a couple of months ago and was given a demo game by a volunteer there. I would say the game is pretty easy to learn. The rules when you read them make sense – mostly. There are a few bits that make you think ‘I probably need to just try a game and reread this as I’m doing it’, but overall it’s very clearly… Read more »
