Black Scorpion talks Cutlass and Upcoming Tombstone
We managed to grab a few words with Adam Clark at Black Scorpion. He was dealing with a huge crowd of customers looking to pick up models for his pirate game Cutlass. He let us know that he is working on Tombstone, a new Western game which will use a similar game engine to Cutlass.
What we really liked about the Black Scorpion model range were the plethora of female miniatures on display.
I love Black Scorpion’s stuff. I have some of there Orc and Goblin Pirates and they’re fantastic. I’ve yet to paint them (that’s not like me, I’ve painted at least 2% the stuff I’ve brought) but have made a nice little Orc Gun Boat for them.
PS, like the hair Dani
Haha, thanks very much 😀
Nice to see a collection of great miniatures that include animal characters. More Female Leads!
I remember the cutlass game BoW did way back, I thought the mechanics were great, so tombstone should be good.
Black Scorpion minis are really nice and I always grab a couple at Salute.. The rules look interesting…my bank account is probably breathing a sigh of relief due to me not being there this year lol
I love the duck hunter, so funny looking.
Was that Daffy Duck with a GPMG in the last picture???
“I said…. Rabbit seassson…”
Love Black Scorpion, I have all the pirate ladies ^_^
Not playing their game system (I use them for IHMN) but now I’m curious about it…
Please Black Scorpion, please make moar pirate ladies 😀
They are a sweet pair of……pistols
Those ladies are ship shape and Bristol fashion.
Oodles of character in all of their minis and the Cutlass week BOW did a couple of years ago was very entertaining. Arrrrr!
Goodness those minis are great. Love the varied designs among them.
Cutlass has always been a game I’ve been reluctant to get into, but those minis look awesome.
Is there a company making 28mm ships? I’ve not seen them for sale here in the mid-west (States), but being half a continent away from the ocean in either direction may have something to do with it.
Laser Dream Works do some nice 28mm ships. I think I am going to put a couple on my Birthday wish list.

Anisty Castings do 28mm 18th century ships
Beasts will need to do a “how to paint white linen shirts” video if this game really takes off.
Some nice stuff there, I shall have to have a closer look
Have the Cutlass rules, and they are fun. Black Scorpion make some nice models.
Pics don’t do the sculpts justice. I bought some western style figs (use the gunfighters as death marshalls in Malifaux) and some undead pirates. Really crisp castings. Great to see the company doing well.
I totally agree! It was so hard to take photos through cabinets whilst jostling my way through the crowd! They were so awesome in the ..flesh?! :p
These look pretty cool, gotta love the idea of a pirate game too.
Must make all the comments… must Win prizes!
Gyarrrr pirates!
Cool Looking stuff!!!
You had me at Tombstone!
interesting
Black Scorpion stuff is great, wish I had more
