Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict (Turn Two)
There has been a lot of posturing from the sides as they move closer together. Interestingly the A10 flew in behind enemy lines and didn't manage to bring a single chopper down...
Look out for what's coming next as the armies get ready to bring each other down.
Wohooo… Closeups for the A10 ^^
Love to see how the warthog does against the hinds
Well I see the A10 continues the abyssmal dice trend^^
I love the view from the infantry lines. I’d be worried! This is going to nasty when it gets going. And the A10 turned-up. Finally. The killed nothing.
That’s what I would call a horde of T-72’s! Also If any of the players gets a chance to comment I really would like to find out the effectiveness of the A10.
I’ll be honest it was a little disappointing but that was largely due to my dice rolling failures. When it did turn up it hit 7 times, 4 hits were saved and the remaining 3 hits failed their fire power tests meaning no kills. I then failed to roll above a 3 for the remainder of the game meaning it didn’t show up. I guess the Soviets timed their attack well and sever weather gounded them (although the Frogfoot got through… must have only hit the US airfield). Overall I got the impression that fixed-wing aircraft were slightly under-powered as… Read more »
Great shot of the A10
What?? No hits from the A-10?? Damn you dice gods!!
Fairchild A10 Thunderbolt II a true 80s heartthrob.
And now we see how the over reliance on technology brings failure to the warmongering imperialists!
tiny humans looking across a field and all they can see is a curtain of tanks coming their way, definitely a brown trouser situation!
Why did the A10 go after the Hinds instead of the tanks?
Mainly because the Hinds are dangerous but don’t have any AA. The tanks all have AAMGs which, when bunched together as they were, were a real threat.
Brrraaaaaatt! Love the A10.
its never good if you are sitting in a hind and suddenly a warthog is showing up in the rearview mirror 😀
I’d turn tail if I was in one of those Hinds. Shame it didn’t hit anything
Damn, SU24 aint got sh” on A10, its got that awesome look only a flying gatlincannon has ^^
me thinks the soviets have been sacrificing some citizens to the appease the dice gods
The A10 is so bad ass the the cartoon Gi-Joe gave them to the villains of the show as a fighter/ground attack plan. Now when that model comes out ill have to paint it in Cobra blue may have to do all my Americans as Cobra. 🙂
COBRA!!!
bet there were some brown seats in those Hind cockpits!
Whats with those different sized T-72s ? Can anyone comment on that ?
I am also interested by the painted T-72, are they from ZVEZDA? Why is the A-10 waisting its time with the hinds? Hinds dont hold terrain!
I just checked and they very much seem to be the Zvezda kits of the T-72.
Yes, they are. Rob brought a few prior to the bootcamp and brought them along. They’re nice kits and scale very well with the battlefront ones (which could not be said for their T-34s).
The Hinds were a juicier target and weren’t bristling with AAMGs. In TY once your aircraft are shot down they do not come back again so, as it was only turn 2, I thought the Hinds the safer option. As it turned out the Hinds didn’t come back anyway thanks to my dodgy dice rolling.
A-10 sweet. One of my favorite winged aircraft
Eight Hinds….
Eight.
Eight… Hinds.
….Eight.
Eight!
EIGHT HINDS!
😛
😀
And some how, I feel like they still need more…. crazy.
The A10 pilot obviously has my kind of luck. Do the heli’s get to fire back?
No as they have no AA.
They do have Anti-Helicopter so can return fire against Cobras if they are close enough.
so going to get some A10’s they look great and want loads of them
Nice to bring the heat, wish he could roll to hit!
You’re not the only one.
