We power through some more projects with some of our Hobby Weekender attendees and get stuck into more painting. Everyone is hard at work.

This has been, despite the flurry of work to get armies finished, a great chance to chat and get stuck into painting and hobby chat (and other chatter) with folks.

Looks like they are ahead of schedule. This might be FFG’s game, but it’s Army Painter’s weekend.

Speaking of Army Painter… What are the guys up to? We haven’t heard from them today!

They are making some fantastic progress. I like these room photos, you can spot all the snacks hidden around the place.

It’s good to do hobby stuff with fellow gamers; a little light conversation, and a dash of peer pressure (“well they’re still painting”) helps me crack on with painting. I often Skype or FaceTime my brother at the other end of the country to do just this.

I love the hobby weekend/bootcamp (I have to concur with John on the terminology) idea and would love to be there.

This looks like a nice social event so far and being focused on the hobby it means that you are not worried about specific games you have to get in. I like this concept and I think with everyone working away it must be motivating everyone collectively to get more done.

Whenever they show these sort of photos from the BoW boot camps and I see all these people sitting there, building and painting and just sharing in the joy of the hobby, it makes me a little sad that there aren’t more of these sort of gatherings out there. Way back in the day – in the before time, long, long ago – this was the sort of thing you got when you went to the local gaming store, the ones large enough to allow for a dedicate building, painting and playing space for the gaming community, but these days…I… Read more »
