Well, that looks like a Walker Bulldog with the “Kelly’s Heroes” style treatment to it. With the Skull rock formation behind the tank, I’d guess that this was one of the ‘Weird Vietnam’ tables?

Black sun was the name of the game.
Yeah, little bit of a re-run there. Sometimes we post banner images across the web page just to “break up the scroll,” so to speak.
Love the tank.
Ironically, I have one of these M41s now from Historicon. 1:35 I think.
peace negotiator?
I come to get a “peace” of yo’ ASS, SON!
BOOOM!
😀 😀 😀
Peace through superior firepower.
😀
I’d say a 90mm tank gun counts …
I think that’s supposed to be a Walker Bulldog which Historically would have been a 76mm but with Wierd War, you may well be right, particularly if its been Oddballed. I did game Vietnam back in the mid 80’s, converted one from a Matcbbox Chaffee in 20mm, probably why I have a bit of a soft spot for the tank.
@bobcockayne – What gets me is that T-bar muzzle brake. That’s something you usually see on 90mm. But I checked yep, you are right sir, that’s a 76mm on the M41. Well played, sir! I can’t even blame the “con exhaustion,” I saw that muzzle brake and jumped to conclusions.
@oriskany only people like you and myself(and John) would even query it, to most its a tank.
Think the M41 has been many different tanks in hollywierd, Panzer IV’s in the Audie Murphy Story
Shermans in Patton, they were playing an other tank in Mars Attacks (with T55’s). They dragged up a few for Full Metal Jacket, supporting the Marines, though dont think the Marines ever used them,
Yeah, I totally remember the M41s in Full Metal Jacket, we mentioned it in Part 4 of our Vietnam Tet Offensive 50th Anniversary series. That might be where I got the wrong idea about the 90mm … since they were clearly “playing the part” of M48A3 Pattons with the 90mm guns that have very similar “T-bar” muzzle brakes.
Wonder were they got them all from, most of the end battle was filmed on the ‘Isle of Dogs’ in the Thames estuary which was being demolished for Canary Wharf.Though they may have filmed that bit at a different location, possibly where the tanks were.
Not sure. Old NATO stocks, maybe?
