What a nice scenario troops and terrain.
Once I saw those amphibious assault vehicles (as used by the US Marine Corps) I had to swing by and take some photos! 😀
Great table!
I can’t believe that Jim (@oriskany) did not shoot some video of this game. I know that Jim loves this rules set.
Maybe the owners they didn’t want to talk on camera
This was actually shot after the crew had “closed shop” for the night, I continue to prowl the gaming halls until everything pretty much shuts down entirely, shooting targets of opportunity (i.e., great tables). There was video content for an even bigger Force on Force table. So because there is SO MUCH going on here, we’re not really covering the same system twice unless it is requested. Still, I can shoot some photos and submit them for posting later the next day …
We’re literally working until the wee hours of the morning on this stuff, guys.
@oriskany probably the only way your going to be able to catch some of the stuff, also makes taking shots easier without bodies intervening just as your getting the sweet spot photo. Kudos for long hours.
Tried to keep the photos as “elbow free” as possible.
No way to keep them entirely “wrist and finger free.”
Happy to say they are “plumber’s crack” free! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Yeah, there was a lot of that flashing around. 🙂
Actually yes @templar007 – Force on Force is still my single favorite moderns miniature rule set, if for no other reason that it captures the real differences between Regular and Irregular armies (you know, 99% of modern warfare). 😀 ALTHOUGH I say that before I’ve had a chance to play UltraCombat Modern …
nice work on the table.
😀
The straightness of that road suggests this game isn’t set in Ireland 🙂 Nice table.
Hmmm … LVTPs amphib assault vehicles, palm trees, straight roads … things you don’t find in Ireland.
We do have palm trees 🙂 Well, not real ones, but ones that look like them. This is were my history, geography and botany might be a bit sketchy…but basically due to the North Atlantic Drift/Gulf Stream, Ireland doesn’t really suffer harsh winters compared to other places on similar latitudes (Coleraine is on a pretty similar latitude to Moscow). Palm like trees were imported by the rich for their gardens in the 19th/20th centuries and now they have gone rogue and spread especially on southern/western coastal areas. It does shock a lot of tourists! No coconuts though!
Other than the coconuts that work at OTT! 😀 😀 😀
I think it´s a great achievement of the board-makers, if you can recognize the theatre or place of the action from just the first glimpse of the table.
Agree 100%! We’re running around between tables, and one might catch our eye … usually because we instantly know the setting or system.
