Got a box full of Langton ships in the stash, on the lookout for a good set of rules for age of sail

It is a matter of how much detail or fidelity you want in your game. Age of Sail takes a long time to play. If you look at the forth coming Oak and Iron from Firelock in October these are more streamlined rules where you can still have large scale battles but finish in a reasonable amount of time.

Thanks, nice to know. Don’t mind a longer turn personally but playing with a larger group regularly usually steers us towards simplicity to avoid too much down time between individual actions.

Yup, I’m really looking forward to receiving my Oak and Iron pledge. Just wish that I could have been there at the Con to play some of it early at Firelock’s Demo table!

OTT has some video on the game from when Mike was just about to go to Kickstarter with it.

Pretty sweet!

Napoleonic naval is always a period I would play if invited to play in a game but would never consider collecting myself
