Wait? I thought this con was historical only? 😉
“Along time ago…..
In a galaxy far, far, away”
Star Wars has always been a historical setting, even in 1977.
Oops, didn’t see the wink until after I posted.
There has been some serious debate about non-historical creeping into this Con.
No one has the answer yet as everyone wants to see HistoriCon grow.
I can see why you wouldn’t want things like Star Wars or 40k in a history driven con. But with “alternate history” systems I can see some appeal.
I like my historical gaming, but Star Wars gets a pass because like the man said “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”
So if I close one eye, look sideways and wave my hands, I can make the alternate history label stick?
??
Star Wars has always been WW2 in space. Well, the good parts, anyway. Keep the Force and the Jedi and the Sith and all that stuff.
As far as non-historical content at Historicon, there were a few tables. As in 10 maybe? Out of 200? A couple zombie tables, two 40K tables, a BattleTech table, two Star Wars tables …
Oh, and there were some fantasy tables as well. Battle of Five armies, etc.
It was too easy they let us go.
Easy? You call that EASY?
That is awesome, what rule set are they using? I can see doing this with my SW Legion figures.
Star Wars Miniatures Wizards of the Coast
Yes by teleportation!
if only obi-wan didn’t have the week off?
Come to the dark side … we have cookies.
One or the other non-historical piece will sharpen the view for the real historical ones. A little variety keeps it interesting.
I’ve heard Mr Stephens runs an excellent restaurant on the Death Star
Does a good penne arrabiata according to TripAdvisor.com
Sadly they serve it with peas
Can I get a tray that isn’t wet?
And this one’s wet …
And this one’s wet …
And this one’s wet …
Did you dry these in a rain forest?
And this one’s wet …
And this one’s wet …
great to see a mix of ages.
You can never have too much starwars….. ….Jar Jad Binks is the exception that proves the rule 🙂
Historical or not, that’s a fantastic table.
