Air Support Hits The Tabletop For The BIG D-Day Gaming Table

I took a moment to see how things are going with the BIG D-Day table which was set up for the event this weekend. We’re now seeing lots of planes coming into the mix as they start to bomb the entrenched German positions and help the Allies get up off the beach.
This is all well and good but from all accounts, the Allies aren’t having a lot of luck getting their boots out of the sand and onto something a little firmer!
Have you played out a beach assault-style game on the tabletop before?
Some excellent looking air support. I have not had a chance to play a beach assault scenario yet. Really looking forward to the new D Day books

These are really well painted aircraft. I´m bad at painting them. I had two American aircraft for the Pacific War, and as far as the Japanese are concerned, at least they didn´t look terryfying 🙂 paintjobwise.
Man I really regret not to have gone there, oh well probably will have to do that next year even if it feels like the big one is this year.
That beach landing table is AWESOME! That pushes so many buttons for so many wargamers 🙂
One day, I shall have plenty beautifull FOW armies ready to roll. (hoy! what about team yeanke?! oh damn….)

Those planes look great in the tabletop.
I’ve done d-day in 28mm, but 15mm would let you get more action in the table. I’m playing with the idea of taking a Dremel to some realm of battle boards to make coastline, but I hate the idea of potentially ruining as expensive scenery.
It all looks great, definitely going to have to work on a beach assault of some from sometime soon.
I love all the planes for flames. I’ve bought ones that I don’t even have army’s for. They just look great.
