The Potterverse’s Mad Eye Moody Takes Shape From Knight Models!
January 6, 2017 by brennon
Knight Models has shown off the first miniature from their upcoming Harry Potter range which will be coming later this year. Meet Mad Eye Moody!
He looks the spitting image of the actor who played him in the movies and I commend them for their skill - even if this wasn't at all how I pictured Mad Eye looking when I was reading the books. Still, it's turned out as an awesome model!
Now we just need to see how the rest of the range is going to turn out and exactly how the game plays!
What do you think of Mad Eye Moody?

i’m with you Ben not how I pictured him ether. its beautifully executed though.
looks like I will be adding to my pile of miniatures with this game. I was so determined and then they go and invite me to the magical world of Harry Potter.
go uk fairy tales.
Holy Crap!
That is truly amazing. I was actually kind of expecting to be disappointed where these minis are concerned (Even though I love their other work, especially the old star wars minis they made), but that is astonishing.
Lovely sculpt, but I am still not convinced that there is much of a market for a minis wargame based on Potter. Boardgame? Sure. But tabletop wargaming… I dunno.
jesus christ they have got gold dust there that is one hell of an IP to get hold of. I may even have to get snape and dumbledor just because lol. not a game id be interested in but the growth this could bring to the miniature industry is potentually huge.
Would actually be a rather interesting wizard for Frostgrave…
That looks very impressive. And this comes from some one who is not Harry Potter fan.
Im quite taken with this model, this is starting to look quite promising.
I do get Harry Potter movies and Lego but I really do not get Harry Potter tabletop-/wargaming.. I mean..seriously?!?
But: great sculpt no doubt.
WOW he looks great hopefully the game is as good.
Never read a Harry Potter novel or seen a Harry Potter film and have no idea who that is, but it’s certainly a great sculpt. What times we live in.
Bloody hell….thats one hell of a miniature.
I can actually see this as a fun skirmish game…build a small band of wizards or deatheaters each with unique spells…..call on reinforcements of centaurs or spiders…hunt down the horcrux.
Does anyone know if that is the final model or is it a test piece? Just wondering if Knight Models have finally switched to plastic or resin? The metal sculpts were the biggest issues with their other ranges and even if their casting doesn’t improve, plastic is a lot easier to fix!
There has been no hint of them going to plastics but resin is a possibility. They announced last year their intention to produce some items (not everything) in resin for their legends range.
So far we have a resin batmobile and nothing more since. I expect Potter will be in metal, their casting and assembly has been improving since they switched to CAD though.
The level of detail is better than I would have thought. Great job mates.
He looks awesome. To be honest like others I wasn’t expecting much for this but if the rest of this good ill definitely be looking closer at this game. It’s even inspired me to watch the films again!!
That’s a fantastic model. I hadn’t heard anything about a Harry Potter game. Do we know anything about it? What scale is this figure?
@angelicdespot probably 32mm for the mini’s. not much info yet on the game though.
