Knight Models August Releases For DC Universe Miniature Game
August 11, 2017 by thisisazrael
Knight Models have brought a huge update to the DC Universe Miniature Game for August.
First up is a whole suite of parallel universe supervillains in the form of the Crime Syndicate including Super Woman, Ultraman and Owlman.
The sculpt and paint job on Johnny Quick in particular really stood out for me.
We also saw Atrocitus from the Red Lantern Corps appear in a truly epic screaming power stance.
Suicide Squad make an appearance too with Deadshot leading the pack rocking what looks like a huge .50 cal.
Fan favourites the Teen Titans and the Birds of Prey round out the release.
The hair, cape and posing of Huntress emanates power and I like how the paint job lifts all the elements of her armour and crossbow.
All in all another fantastic update to the DC Universe Miniature Game range.
What do you think of how these minis will translate from comic to tabletop?

At last rest of DCU gets to shine on tabletop! Oh and all of those are stunning models.
More fantastic sculpts! Is this not truly the golden age of gaming. Never would I have imagined such a fantastic range of super hero gaming figures being so readily available. Don’t you try to blow this world up now Trump, or I’ll set the Justice League on you!
For anyone confused, the Suicide Squad, Teen Titans and Birds of Prey ‘Multiverse’ sets are existing sculpts that have been repackaged with cards for both BMG and DCU. They are also priced at a discount over buying separately.
The Crime Syndicate are all new awesomeness. Owlman and Johnny Quick are also Multiverse packs.
In other news, word is leaking out that KM are moving to pre-coloured plastic for their minis
Clarification has been emerging, it is actually a plastic resin, so we are not talking injection molding. This may come with a price reduction. The new Grodd crew that just came out is resin so this makes sense. The big news there is that the whole range is going to resin and dropping metal.
Also now confirmed is that Batman is getting a second edition. The precoloured resin implies a new starter box but that bit is me guessing.
Plastic resin doesn’t mean anything. Do they mean this is spin cast, or perhaps by Prodos?
The newer resin Relic Knights minis are Prodos resin to give an example of that.
It appears that it’s spin cast resin.
I’ve had it direct from KM on facebook that they are not outsourcing production, so its a no to Prodos.
I’m genuinely curious… Does anyone actually play this game?
It’s my hope we will get models of the LEGO Batman and friends.
I can’t wait to pick up these. Owlman has always been a favourite of mine even though he isn’t the best sculpt of the new stuff, not bad though still really good. I’d paint mine up like the James Woods version. As for the repacks its great, I’ll pick them up when I can before the move over to coloured plastic (seen pictures confirmed on the official Knight Models facebook page for DC games). I bought the Deadshot model individually last week and am painting it now – a joy to paint. Also he does four blood damage with the… Read more »
That’s strange, I have found no mention of this on the Knight Models facebook. I have only seen the image on the facebook page of Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher; https://www.facebook.com/TalesoaTS/.
I hope that Knight Models will make an official statement in which they also mention when they want to release the models of the new material and what will happen to the metal miniatures.
Knight Models has the worst PR I have ever seen…they have gotten better in the last few months (they have a great website with articles) but they still lack a public forum or facebook page for costumer interactions. (Arkham City Limits is a private FB group with draconian moderation…no criticisms or concerns are allowed to be posted) in response to Dreadknot: the game is fun, if a little clunky, they have just started talking about second edition so I hope they will streamline and clean up the rules. If you like the Batman Mythos BMG is well worth the investment.… Read more »
They once had a public forum, but spambots brought an end to it (at least that’s what I think).
Correct, KM didn’t moderate it properly and spam bots drowned the thing.
Confirming that for all my love of the game and minis, KM need to get their act together in how they communicate. Most of their announcements come in the form of vague teasers and the community is left to figure things out or just plain and see what actually turns up at retail.
Luckily its a good game with great sculpts.
