Red Scar Show Off The Cover For New Kings Of War RPG
June 7, 2019 by brennon
Red Scar Publishing has been showing off the cover for their new Kings Of War: The Roleplaying Game project. Check it out...
The cover was created by artist Nele Diel and shows heroes facing off against a mighty foe in the midst of an epic battle. One of the cool things about making a roleplaying game based around a game like Kings Of War is that you already have a myriad of different options for miniatures to represent your heroes.
Whether you like gaming in the mind's eye or with figures on the tabletop folks might like to have a physical representation of their character. Of course, as well as friends you'll also find plenty of the foes you're facing in your adventures as part of Mantic's collection too.
I am very interested to see what the mechanics are like for this game...

Nice to see. While Mantica (the land KoW is based) isn’t the most original fantasy setting, hopefully this will see the background bulked out a bit more. There is plenty of room for expansion and exploration of the background that is available at the moment. Now you could roleplay getting a band of adventures together and making their way to a dungeon, use Dungeon Saga to find a ancient weapon needed to save the day, use Vanguard to skirmish getting the weapon to the final battle and play a massive battle of KoW at the end to see if the… Read more »
+5 awesome points for the use of the word Mantastic!
And I second your ideas about linking the KOW RPG with all of the other Mantic games in order to play out all levels of a massively grand campaign.
Iam so hyped for this! 😀
I really like Vanguard and Dungeon Saga and the opportunities with this new KoW RPG could be really amazing and endless!
iam looking forward to it and also for some new models exclusive to the KoW RPG, which we could also use for Dungeon Saga and Vanguard, that would be massive :)!
Thx should so much fun. My taste in RPGs has been dystopian future and sci-fi but I do enjoy the world Mantic has built. That what we have seen in the currant games is less than what Europe might be on the new world map leaves so much to explore will be a lot. Can’t wait to see what the new name will be, bye bye Mantica, hello to something new. Maybe they will be using the RPG launch to frame the new world name as well
Didn’t know they were changing the name!
They said late last year that Mantica had been meant as a placeholder until they properly named it but went to print with it because they had waited to long and did not have a name everyone could get behind. I believe we will still get Mantican stories but the world, and maybe even its star, will get a proper name along with many new kingdoms
Thanks for that!
What a fabulous cover with a undead dragon by the looks of it.
Sadly I don’t really have the opportunity for getting involved with an RPG campaign these days, but I am looking forward to the development of the Mantic fluff that this represents.
Personally, I love “generic”, “Tolkienesque”, whatever you want to call it, fantasy. I like the familiar races and tropes of elves, dwarves goblins etc. That is a real draw for me and I am put off by fantasy that is based on completely different ideas.
Can’t wait.
Will need to check it when it is ready.
I’d be lying if I said I was excited for this. The game setting, while I do not know much about it, seems very generic. I don’t think this is anything that could be done without D&D 5th edition. Still, best of luck to the companies and more power to the fans.
I’ve enjoyed the Kings of War universe for quite sometime now. So it’s a no brainier that I want this RPG and will gladly buy it once it’s out.
I too remember that they mentioned they would be renaming the lands currently known as Mantica. This is a good way to reveal a name change.
