Mantic Tips Their Hand & Shows Renders For King Of War’s Trident Realms
November 22, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
New goodies are on the horizon for King of War, and today, Mantic Games has tipped their hand and offered a peek at the work-in-progress models for Kings of War: Trident Realms!
That's right - Kings of War will be taking to the sea for inspiration in its latest units led by the likes of the Thuul Mythicans above. Here's a look at the lineup starting with The Riverguard - Amphibian Sentinels...
The Thuul, a bizzare mix between Halfling and Octopus creating a range of ferocious creatures.
They also have access to war machines like the Leviathan's Bane which can fire a harpoon through the thickest hide.
Gigas are one of their more dangerous creatures under their command too who have large pincers that can cut through armour with ease...
...and of course for any water-dwelling army you would have to have some Water Elementals. They do look good as surging waves of pure power ready to come crashing down on your foes.
Finally, we have the Naiad Centurions and Envoys of which you get a taste here.
Interestingly enough, it sounds like these units will be metal miniatures to join your Kings of War collection.
What do you think of the Trident Realms so far?

I really like those. Quite a unique looking army for a RnF game.
How come the bolt thrower doen’t shoot a massive Trident?
I think the designers might have taken notice to your comment 😉
Me likey!
Oh …..I do like those. Nice work Mantic. From what I remember from from Ronnie’s KoW talk a couple of months back, this army , the salamanders and the Basilean re-do are going to be the three armies Mantic release for KoW in 2017. If the others are like this things are on the up =)
Interested to see how large those frog men are. If they’re right for D&D bullywugs, I’ll definitely be grabbing some.
Well done, Mantic. The company is certainly established enough now to be designing its own armies and not simply offering alternatives to GW’s established tropes.
The amphibians would make great bullywugs in my swamp-based D&D adventure 🙂
They look… pretty good actually. Nice to see something fresh. Well, salty, but you know what I mean 😀
Looks like GW have finally missed the boat on Fishmen 😀
The water elementals at least look good.
Those are looking really good. So which one of those fishmen is one who gets people tell him that he is kinda attractive for a fishman.
nice love the gigas crab thingy.
Ooooooo Bullywugs
