Personally I use poly cement and superglue to construct my army.
(I’ll see myself out)
I liked’ it lol
ba dum tssshhh
Personally, I’d opt for tactical mobility – more regiments for flexibility; but that might be flawed.
@apocryphal I am with you there, flank and rear charges are brutal and as the melee does not often destroy one unit in the first turn of combat you can really exploit areas if you opponent has not covered themselves.
Also, for what it’s worth; I really dig the graphics for this series; it looks sharp!
I like to have a horde for the solid centre it gives your line, but otherwise I find the regiments to be better value and give you more flexibility I don’t find troops to be very useful however it’s almost always better just to fork out for the regiment.
I’m playing around with that idea for my Ogres, nice big solid Horde of Warriors or Siegebreakers flanked by some Warrior regiment and chariot support with a flank of Chariots/Red Goblin scouts and another of Ogre Braves and a Warlock.
Supposedly the Kingdoms of Men list currently allows you to use appropriate models from any manufacturer’s range. How about Polish winged hussars fighting alongside Macedonian Greek phalanxes?
Why not?! 🙂
Cav and pike … seen that before, maybe even some shoot …
Most definitely!
I think anything up to the 30 Years War era can easily be covered with the Kingdoms of Men list.
There are also beta rules for Ratmen and The League of Rhordia up on the forums.

Mantic Rich
I hope that the decision to allow 3rd party products in the game is paying off for Mantic. I know every dollar we send to Warlord or the Perry brothers is lost to you. Another company might simply refuse to have rules for figures they don’t sell.
@rfernandz2001 It definitely seems to be paying off, looking at the amount of Kings of War stuff popping up on Facebook people are really getting into it. Obviously Mantic is a business but Ronnie really pushes a ‘Let’s just play some games!’ feel into everything which I love, and let’s be honest is what the hobby is all about for many of us. I’m toying with how to field an Armies of Men myself once I get my Ogres done and the range of choice is so large these days..personally stuck between Samurai themed using Wargames Factory and Perry’s or… Read more »
I use the Perry War of the Roses plastic to good effect in KoW.
It’s all one theme as I sometimes use it for historical battles. I just add a few fantasy elements when playing KoW.
The rules committee will be working on a Historical variant for Kings of War also so you will be set for that.
Cheers, I look forward to that. I also have a Mantic Dwarf army as I sometimes play against my son. 🙂
I loved the Dwarfs but not so much now..you’ll find out why in the next episodes of this series 🙂
Is it just me or is Justin’s beard leaning to one side. One must take care of one’s beard.
@vezadecio Have you seen any pics of him recently?
I’ve multi based my Kingdoms of Men army. I’ve opted for bases that have 100mm front and are 40mm deep. That way I can combine them to make the different sized units. I can also use a few less miniatures.
A horde is just 4 bases, so it’s really easy to move around the table.
sounds cool, do you have a pic?
Kings of War is my favorite ruleset and the changes to the second edition look well thought out and improve on an already great game.
Lots of new hard plastic and neat new factions! Can’t wait to give the new rules a play. I’m curious to see how the match between Rich and Justin goes. I reckon Rich will be taking Elite special rule units to balance out the dice rolls?
Good run through and thanks for the video!
I’ll give nothing away.
It was a lot of fun filming them though.
With version 1, I’ve used 2 hordes when I play Kingdoms of Men. One is a horde of pikes and the other a horde archers. That’s when we are playing relatively high point games.
What do you use to support the Hordes?
Just getting into this game..so a complete novice..but dwarfs are looking the way for me.
