Visit The Lands Of Arran & Meet New 54mm Elves & Dwarves
February 3, 2018 by brennon
Lumberjacks Studio is on Kickstarter right now looking to fund a set of 54mm character miniatures from the Fantasy world of Arran. Here we have both the Elf and the Dwarf which are looking superb.
Based on some of the work that went into the comic book series which inspired the miniatures we have two awesome characters. The first of these is Jih Binn The Half Elf, a mighty looking warrior who certainly throws away many of the stereotypes of his forebears.
Here is a painted version of this particular model, showing off just how awesome it is...
The second of the miniatures is Oosram The Wanderer, a mighty Dwarf!
Here's a bit of the background on him...
"Oösram was the greatest general of the Seven-Dragons Fortress. But he betrayed his oath. Since then, he is nothing anymore. His beard was cut off, his properties confiscated, his glory forgotten. He and his family became Wanderers, working the land for a pittance. Oösram accepts his destiny.
Until the day he lost his daughter when a Venerable of the Order of the Forge refuses to look after the child of a pariah. The former General goes back to battle. Those he once defended have now become his enemies…"
Each of the miniatures is 54mm in scale and cast in resin. The kits are incredibly well detailed as you'll see in the images above. Whilst I am predisposed to enjoy Dwarves I actually think that Jih Binn is the better of the two miniatures. I love his noble bearing.
Are you going to take a closer look at this campaign?

I love the pig.
A war pig?
Incidentally, I love the comics. Excellent stories and characterization, a rich, multifaceted universe, a LOTS of it. The principle is that each series tells stories of the Lands of Arran from five different perspectives. The first series was “Elves”, and it narrates stories from the blue elves, high elves, dark elves, sylvan elves and half-elves… each album treats of one of those five, in order, and the fifth album goes back to talking about the first sub-race. That is to say, the first, fifth, tenth and 15th album is from the perspective of blue elves, whereas the 4th, 9th and… Read more »
Actually, I mixed up the albums of the Elves series… but the principle is the same.
Those are some stunning looking minis.
Love them.
I LOVE that dwarf… amazing
54mm, that’s life size for a dwarf, right?
I was avoiding any puns about it being a short campaign or prices being reduced…
