December 3, 2024 by brennon
Max FitzGerald, the mind behind Turnip28, is back on Kickstarter right now with the first big expansion to this game of mud, blood, rusty armour and root vegetables. The Shattered Lance offers brand new miniature kits that you can kitbash and convert to your heart's content.

As part of this campaign, you'll be able to get your hands on both digital and physical 28mm multi-pose miniatures for the world of Turnip28. As well as brand-new cavalry and infantry, you can also get an excellent miniature designed by Monster Garden and sculpted by Warp Miniatures.

For those who haven't heard of Turnip28, this is a pretty good description from the mind behind the game...
"Turnip28 is a horrifying post-apocalyptic wargame where players command Regiments made up of incompetent Snobs, bedraggled Followers and bizarre war machines. You will weep, you will cheer, as deranged peasants kick each other to death in the mud."
You can actually get your hands on a full set of Turnip28 Rules from the Patron page for the game. So, give them a read and see what you think about the game! It is unique!
The Miniatures
The first of the sets from the Kickstarter is for The Beast, the towering new miniature for use in Turnip28.
The Beast // Turnip28
This is the largest miniature yet for Turnip28 and comes with a whole bunch of different options for you to choose from including the head and the arms of the rider. You also get the evocatively named Spoon Of Doom which is very Turnip28. Get a better look at the miniature below...

Snap up soldiers and gobble them down in one go. As mentioned above, this miniature either comes as an STL set so you can print off whatever pieces you need or you can get it as a physical kit with all of the bits to make your Beast.
As well as The Beast, you can also get your hands on the elite cavalry of Turnip28, plodding through the mud and blood. There are options for the Noble Lancers...

...and also the Brigand Cavalry. As with The Beast kit, both of these sets have been designed so you can mix and match components to make your unit for use in Turnip28.

As well as the miniatures that you see here, the Kickstarter will also fund the development and evolution of the Turnip28 rules. "Six New Cults, six New Scenarios, over fifty Wretched relics, pieces of lore and gorgeous artwork. It has never been a better time to watch miserable men at arms butcher each other on the tabletop."
Talking of Men At Arms, you can also get your hands on a new set of infantry for you to use alongside the cavalry miniatures above.

Some heavily armoured infantry who can cut their way through the enemy with relative ease thanks to their weapons of choice, as long as you pay them well! All of these new miniatures are part of both digital and physical pledges for the campaign, building on what folks have access to already.
Add-Ons & More
As well as the main options above, you can pick up some Add-Ons and more for the campaign. You can get different Starter Sets and more featuring various miniatures to get a foot in the door with Turnip28.

You can also get the likes of the Upgrade Packs which give you heads, backpacks and more for converting some of the historical miniatures you have in your collection. Stick these on some black powder-era miniatures and you'll be grand. Oh, and don't forget the tufts.
