Great Escape Games are now live on Kickstarter with their campaign that is looking to bring Dead Man's Hand back to the tabletop with an updated version of one of the most well-loved Wild West wargames on the market.
Dead Man's Hand Redux 2nd Edition Starter Set // Great Escape Games
This will all be done through a new Two-Player Starter Set featuring plastic miniatures and terrain plus all the accessories you need to get playing the game. We've talked quite a bit about what we like about Dead Man's Hand as a game and so it's awesome to see it getting an updated set of rules and a new way for people to dive into this game for themselves.
Two-Player Starter Set // Dead Man's Hand
Inside the new boxed set, you're going to find an awesome array of plastic for you to get to grips with. There will be ten plastic Male Gunfighters and five plastic Female Gunfighters for you to build, arming them with all sorts of different weapons that would be typical of the period like revolvers, rifles and shotguns.

Female Gunfighters // Dead Man's Hand
As well as the plastics Gunfighters, all of which have been available in plastic sets for a good while now, you'll also get this awesome plastic terrain which is entirely new!
New Plastic Terrain // Dead Man's Hand
These terrain kits allow you to build a set of classic Wild West buildings for you to take cover in and sneak around. You could even stick a sniper on the top of one of those, aiming down the street at that fiendish Outlaw you've had your eye on for a while.
This terrain has also been tweaked and updated thanks to the backers of the Kickstarter. That means a few more bits and pieces are getting attached to the sprues, giving you more scatter terrain to hide behind once the lead starts flying.
New Rulebook // Dead Man's Hand
This set will also come with everything you need to play including two decks, the appropriate dice, a load of tokens and of course the updated rulebook which features loads of updates from the development of the game over the past few years.
Starter Set Accessories // Dead Man's Hand
This seems like it's going to be a great set for those wanting to dive into Dead Man's Hand for the first time. It removes some of the hunting that you'd have to do to pick up the various books and such from the last edition and that new terrain is just gorgeous! It'll really help to set the scene and should be easy to work.
Two-Player Starter Set Contents // Dead Man's Hand
A lot more is getting unlocked as the campaign rolls on including additional characters for you to pick up and bonus additions to the pledges available for the game. The new set comes in at a rather tidy £90 which isn't that bad considering all of the stuff that you get in the set, essentially allowing you to play with the contents of the set for a good long while after you crack it open.
The aim is to deliver the Kickstarter in April next year and from there, hopefully we'll see Dead Man's Hand going from strength to strength as new plastic kits get added into the mix for various gangs.
Could you be tempted to pick up this set?

“Lee Van Kickstarter”… love it!
Popped my kickstarter cherry with this one.
7 vs. 8?
Nice buildings, tho.
or 8 v 7.
The gangs aren’t fixed you can field them as a variety of different types and in a lot of game scenarios you’ll only be playing with 1-3 minis
pledged!
Does Lloyd know there’s rules for trains yet?
Yes, there are train rules.
This would be a good one, if not got a box full of painted old Gurnsey Foundry figures, and a full town painted.
Though could do with someone doing mounted figure to match foot .
They are in the stretch goals. A plastic mounted set.
This is so incredibly tempting. Does anyone know if they plan on expanding the building range down the line? I may just have to jump on board this.
The stretch goal at £100,000 is to produce 2 storey buildings available as a £32 add on
