Keeping with a theme of Kickstarters which focus in on downloadable STL Files for you to home print I was rather bowled over by the designs by Lovecraft which have popped up. See what you think about The Riders Of The Storm.

Riders Of The Storm - Lovecraft

The idea with this campaign is that it brings you a range of different STL Files for you to download but there are plenty of variations between the different dragon designs. Each of the big dragons will be available in either an RPG, Wargaming or Diorama form.

For example, here is the Wargaming version of the Viper which shows off this Elven hero flying forward into battle.

However, if you're just looking for a dragon to face off against in a dungeon delver then they also have the RPG version which you can see here.

The designs for the RPG versions of the Dragons look to be more focused around the idea of battling in a dynamic melee rather than showing off the leader rushing into battle atop his steed.

Once the battle is over there's also this Diorama version of the Viper which shows the heroes standing over a defeated dragon which features the hero from the wargaming version too.

Viper Diorama

Of course, the Viper isn't the only dragon as there's also one of my favourites which is the Fairy Dragon.

I really like the eldritch design here and the fact that it's a different style of dragon/drake. You could imagine this being used as part of a lot of Elven armies, especially those that are drawn from High Fantasy worlds.

Here are two of the other designs too with the Arrowhead Dragon...

...and the Ragnarok which will no doubt be flying through the skies and brutalising the countryside. All of these are the wargaming versions of the miniatures as you'll have guessed from the labels but there are alternative versions for them out there too on the project.

As well as the dragons there are also some units up for grabs AND heroes if you fancy having some characters to battle these dragons. There are plenty of backers as part of this campaign already and whilst a big dragon might be an ambitious project to print first I could see people taking on the challenge and looking for some help online.

Will you be taking a peek at this project?
